I would give this hotel more stars if I could! I stayed here weekly for two months while traveling for work in Chicago, and it is hands down my favorite hotel I’ve ever stayed at. After traveling almost weekly for three years, I don’t say that lightly. The front desk team and valets are exceptional. Armando, Jose, and Andrew consistently went above and beyond. They always welcomed me by name, checked in on how my week was going, and made the chaos of work travel feel manageable. It’s rare to find a team that is not only professional, but genuinely kind. The hotel itself is beautiful and in a fantastic location, but what truly sets it apart is the staff. Their warmth, consistency, and attention to detail made it feel like a home away from home. I recommend this hotel to everyone I know visiting Chicago!

Beautiful 1929 Art Deco building, with stunning views. The original (linen) blueprints on display in the hotel corridors were a nice touch. The rooms are very tastefully decorated and laid out. The staff were polite and helpful at all times. You can’t beat that view from the Up Bar too. Loved our stay and we’ll be back. The only minor note is that early-morning staff conversations outside guest bedrooms can carry, but we had a lovely restful stay.

One of the best surprises I’ve had in a long time. Great service, beautiful views, and very comfortable for a work trip. The bathroom had a great view and layout, the tv was modern and easy to use, and the roof has the best view of the city. Incredibly fun neighborhood as well.

The Robey is one of our favorite places to recommend to clients visiting Chicago. Beautiful design, thoughtful details, and an incredible team that always makes guests feel genuinely welcome. The rooms, lounge spaces, and neighborhood all have so much character, and the service consistently feels warm and personal. A perfect fit for production teams, creatives, and anyone looking for a stay that feels uniquely Chicago.

Stop staying in the Loop! Stay at the Robey in Bucktown. Firstly, the Robey is located steps for the Blue Line with easy and reliable access to O'Hare and Downtown/The Loop. Blue Line is much more predictable than using a ride share and sitting in traffic on the Kennedy hoping to make your fight. Secondly, the building is a beautifully renovated Art Deco structure from 1929, updated with all the modern luxuries it still respects the architectural integrity of its roots. The room design is restrained, clean, linear, but details like real marble tables, terrazzo tile, push button switches and Le Labo toiletries are not missed. They used to issue you real metal keys; however, sadly I heard they are switching to room key cards. Do not skip grabbing a drink at their roof top bar with stunning views of the Chicago skyline. Additionally, the staff is very friendly and attentive. Because The Robey is not a large hotel the staff actually remember you, often by name. I only come to Chicago a few times a year but they definitely remember me each time! Thirdly, the Bucktown/Wicker Park area is a much more interesting place to stay, it contains a slew of great restaurants and bars and a decent amount of shops! Plus it stays buzzy after 6pm (unlike the loop)
