Had graduation get together under bronze artwork commemorating how football was organized under local men's clubs and associations. Spectacular lobby with expansive floor to include two separate bar rooms, a posh formal dining area, pool tables and other games. There are giant areas maintained for racquet sports and other sports. Food was very good. But I only had a few appetizers and dessert. Red velvet cake was wonderful. A nice place to stay near a ton of shopping and things to do, places to go downtown in one of my favorite cities.
Incredible experience. Beautiful and timeless hotel. Food in the lobby restaurant was great. The corner rooms are so spacious and have so much light. We appreciated the dog friendliness of the hotel and staff. It’s officially our favorite hotel in the city. Parking was great in north grant ave garage.
I was really hoping this place would be as amazing as it looked on social media however my husband and I were very disappointed. Aesthetically speaking it is beautiful but service is nonexistent. We tried to check into the hotel only to be rudely directed upstairs to complete the process. Upon arrival to our room we quickly found there was almost zero storage. Just a few tiny drawers and minimal hanging space. We paid extra for a city view and it was most certainly not worth it. The absolute worst part of our stay was being asked to leave the game room by one of the hotel staff. 😳 We were barely into a fun game of chess when a tall man walked up and informed us in a very rude way that the bar was closed and we needed to leave. There were a million ways this man could have done better in delivering his request. Unfortunately, he decided to make it an awkward demand. I will never choose Chicago Athletic Association again as a result of this incident. Honestly, all the other disappointments we were willing to overlook but that was the icing on the cake. I highly recommend not staying here.
I had such an amazing experience dining here! The atmosphere was beautiful, the food was absolutely delicious, and everything was handled with such care and attention to detail. What truly made the experience stand out, though, was one of the staff members Mikesha—she was exceptional. From the moment we were seated, she made us feel so welcomed and comfortable. Her energy was warm, genuine, and professional, and you can tell she takes real pride in what she does. She went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect, checking in thoughtfully and making sure we had everything we needed without ever being intrusive. It’s rare to come across someone who provides service with that level of grace and authenticity. Because of her, this experience felt even more special. She is truly an asset to the team, and I’ll definitely be coming back—and recommending this place to others!
My girlfriend and I went there for srinks and snacks. It was wonderful!! We started in the game room and ended in the lobby lounge. It was so much fun and a little mini adventure into a Chicago gem. They have a happy hour but don't expect it to be cheap. It is a place for a special treat. Adult Disneyland.
