Seriously good birria in a snug counter spot! We ordered two plates of birria and a cheese quesadilla and everything hit - the birria was rich and flavorful with huge meat chunks and tender texture covered in a savory broth, and it paired perfectly with fresh corn tortillas and the salsas on the side. The quesadilla was crispy and packed with gooey cheese. A hearty meal that really blew me away. Can’t wait to be back!

Went for the first time today and it was amazing! The meat was so tender, and I loved the tortillas. The salsa doesn’t come with chips which was a little disappointing. But overall, everything was a 10/10. I’ll definitely be thinking about this meal for a while!

Michelin Bib Gourmand and deserved! Simple menu, insanely good roasted goat. Homemade corn tortillas (you can tell). Fresh cilantro, onion, limes, hot sauce. Huge portions for the price. My friend said the horchata was the best she’s ever had. Everything fresh, it’s 100% worth trying.

Birrieria Zaragoza is hands down one of Chicago’s greatest food treasures. Their goat birria, slow-braised in the traditional Jaliscan style, is unbelievably tender and flavorful. Easily the best I’ve had outside Mexico. The fresh, nixtamalized tortillas, generous toppings tray, and rich consommé make every bite unforgettable. I have sampled across the menu, and every dish impressed: • Birria tacos: juicy, rich, and deeply spiced. • Cabeza tacos: crispy yet tender, with a subtle smokiness that keeps you reaching for more. • Quesadilla de birria: stuffed generously, wrapped in warm, handmade tortillas. The service is quick, the passion shows, and even Michelin has recognized them with multiple Bib Gourmand awards. Pro tip: get the horchata de café if they have it, and go early since they can sell out. Simply put, this is a must-visit in Chicago.

This was the highlight from our trip to Chicago! The combo Green Mill + Birreria was the best, because Juan made our experience perfect. We had quesadillas served with THE BEST SALSA I have ever tasted! Honestly, please pay a visit if you go to Chicago 🤍 Thank you, Juan!!!!!
