My daughter and I stayed 3 nights here. The staff was so attentive. The housekeeping service especially the turn down service made our service so special. We enjoyed it immensely. Spoiled us so much that we are at our next hotel and miss the staff and service at Santa Clara. They also put a little coconut candy by your pillow at night. It was so lovely. The tropical ceviche at the pool bar was delicious:

Our stay at the Santa Clara in Cartagena was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we arrived, the level of hospitality, elegance, and attention to detail truly reflected why this property is considered one of Cartagena’s most iconic destinations. Every member of the team went above and beyond to ensure that every need was anticipated with warmth, professionalism, and genuine care. The service was simply impeccable throughout our entire stay. A very special acknowledgment to Mr. Arturo Cardozo, Duty Manager, whose extraordinary attention and commitment to guest experience elevated our stay to another level. His professionalism, kindness, and dedication to excellence embody true luxury hospitality. I would also like to recognize Luis and the entire service team, as well as Julian at the bar, for their outstanding attentiveness and hospitality. Their graciousness, personalized service, and genuine effort to create memorable experiences did not go unnoticed. Santa Clara is far more than a beautiful historic property it is an experience defined by excellence, elegance, and people who truly care. I leave Cartagena deeply grateful and look forward to returning again.

The Sofitel Santa Clara was an amazing experience! We only stayed for one night before a wedding, but everything was impeccable. The room was gorgeous and had everything we needed, the restaurant (we had breakfast and lunch in la Jardin) was delicious! But best of all was the service. We met Arturo as we were checking in and had a wonderful conversation. Diego at the front desk continuously went above and beyond to make sure our stay was amazing. The butler staff (especially Alejandro, who showed us around) always responded quickly to any questions. The servers at the breakfast restaurant were perfectly attentive. When we come back to Cartagena- we will absolutely be staying again! (Oh also- the pool is the BEST in the old town, and of course the location is absolutely ideal)

Location, location, location...this hotel has it. Its historic so that means old and you can see a little reflection of that in the room. Bathroom was updated with lots of room. We had a nice patio looking out to the pool (great pool). Our tour guide took a few minutes to walk us through the hotel's collection of antiques which was very interesting. The food was good; but I wouldn't say excellent or of a portion size that justified the price. It also took a long time as food is prepared when you order unlike the packaged food you get in the US. New York prices for drinks. Lots of Americans in the hotel. The big plus was the location in Old Town. Very walkable, very safe, lots to see. Lots of shopping and historic sites within easy walking distance. Staff was friendly although somewhat shy about their English skills. In general, it is easier to get around Columbia if you speak Spanish. I would definitely stay here on a future visit. Revised: I would never go back without a RFID wallet. We had to close 3 credit cards for fraud.

This place is like home away from home. From the second you walk in to the moment you leave, you feel truly cared for. I’ve traveled around the whole world and this is one of my favorite places. Highly recommend. Food amazing and one of the highlights was the poolside service from Ender!
