A great stop if you have some time in Cartagena. The Museo del Oro Zenú offers free entry, making it an easy addition to your itinerary. The staff and guides are friendly and helpful, adding a lot of value to the visit. The exhibits are well organized, nicely lit, and feature clear, informative signage that helps you understand the history and craftsmanship on display. Although it’s a relatively small museum, it delivers a rich and rewarding experience.

It's a nice little museum. The signage is very informative (it's both in Spanish and English). The artifacts are well presented and lighted. There are also very interesting videos you can watch. Admission is free.

This place is great! Some interesting and well produced movies about the people from the region, small and well labelled displays. Should take about 30 mins and it’s a nice air conditioned break!

A fun little free museum that is actually a legitimate cultural museum, not a tourist trap focused on selling souvenirs. Here you can learn about the native Colombian Zenú people and see real artifacts, including an impressive amount of gold. The exhibits are well presented and give meaningful historical and cultural context rather than just surface-level information. They also show short films throughout the museum. One in particular explains how the Zenú may have communicated with birds using flutes. They call it “The Blowing of the Universe”, which was both interesting and a little amusing. There was no wait to enter, and it’s an easy, worthwhile stop if you’re exploring the area. Tip: There’s also an emerald museum just a block away that’s very interesting and worth checking out if you have time.
