We went for dinner and because of the live music. It was an interesting mix of Latin music and classic American tunes. We started with cocktails, I had a Moscow Mule and my partner had a Negroni. Nothing particularly special to report but both made well. For dinner, we consulted with our waiter and decided to start with the Chicharrón Mixto and the Bombones de Solomito. The mixto was tasty but very simple. The breaded and friend fish was a little soggy. The calamari and shrimp were done well. The Solomito however was incredibly delicious! Perfectly cooked and a very rich flavor. For the main course we shared Langostinos Criollos. We were expecting langoustines hut they were actually simply shrimp of moderate size. It was served on a delicious sweet corn bread on a large plate with a rich coconut and Spanish chorizo sauce. While the shrimp were a bit disappointing the plate was balanced and full of contrasts in flavor. The only thing I didn’t care for is that our server, came to us at the end and said the built in service charge is shared and that if we wanted to tip extra in cash for him he’d appreciate it. Then when. We went to find change no one had anything less than 50. Considering they are supposed to confirm the tip not ask for more, it was a bit off putting. Service was slow and the restaurant was full be patient.

Mistura in Cartagena is a great restaurant. The food is spectacular and full of flavor. The staff is super friendly and gives great recommendations, especially for the rice dishes and the drinks. That was a big plus. The environment is very nice, cozy, and well decorated. A really enjoyable place to eat.

Mistura never disappoints. The food is delicious and the spot in Cartagena, with its colonial architecture inside the walled city, is just beautiful. We tried the crispy tacos (which are incredible and packed with flavor), the crab rice which was absolutely delicious, and some really good sushi. The weekend night music adds such a great vibe. I’d come back here again and again.

Overhyped and overpriced. I initially walked by and was drawn in by the inviting atmosphere, so I came back the next day. The ambiance held up—live music and a nice setting—but the food did not. Every dish lacked flavor. The meat was dry, the ceviche tasted off and under-marinated, and the fish had little to no seasoning. The sauces seemed stale, as if they had been prepared in advance and not stored properly. Even the lychee lemonade missed the mark—it didn’t taste like lychee at all. Service was also disappointing. I was never introduced to my server, and overall attention to the table was lacking. After an hour, and 4 different dishes, I decided to eat something elsewhere. I wouldn’t recommend this place and would suggest exploring other options that actually deliver on flavor.

Very good food! We had the Mixed Ceviche and the Seafood Rice. Both were so good. We sat at the bar and the bartenders were very friendly and helpful. Atmosphere was excellent as well. Live music brought everything together very nicely.
