This place is like New York,Las Vegas & New Orleans rolled into one! It's awesome and everyone is friendly and welcoming with everything and anything you could possibly want to do from excursions to shopping in a flea market or a shop and eating from a fancy restaurant or a street vendor; it has it all! Surrounded by music and art with lots of people and cars and buses. Very proud of their heritage and history with monuments sprinkled all over the city; It's breathtaking sunsets and it's fairly inexpensive. I can't wait to visit again!!

Nice for a walk; Cartagena is clearly proud of it and there is a great atmosphere late in the afternoon around sunset. There are many cities with city walls, and for me, this is simply another one to add to that list. So far, it is the best spot for a sunset over the Caribbean Sea, though we still have many more to see. Walks on the wall are free and healthy, so enjoy and make the most of it!

I have been "behind the wall" in the walled city on each and every trip to Cartagena. The history there, especially the tremendous amount of history regarding St. Peter Claver the Patron Saint of Slavery, is truly exceptional. Needless to say the food/restaurants are plentiful and Michelin quality. Please don't go to Cartagena Bolívar Colombia without going to the walled city!

A place of pilgrimage for tourists. Noisy, crowded, with many vendors. The glory and former power of the historic walls is palpable. You can walk along the wall and even sit in a crevice.
