We went there on 1/4/2026 and it was abit quiet but we preferred it so we really enjoyed it Our server Lorraine was really attentive and ontop of things which we appreciate. She even offered to change a drink because we weren’t the biggest fan of it Overall we had a really good experience and definitely will be back Also shout out to the manager on duty for coming to check up on us about the drink situation, was greatly appreciated Thank you
Lovely ambience makes for a pleasant evening out. Fireplace 🔥 was great and unexpected👌🏽. Wow …and they even boast a dance 🪩 floor. Quaint, relaxed atmosphere and it’s wonderful that you enjoy good food, catch ups over cocktails and can dance the night away. Security is ever present and very friendly staff and excellent service. 🙌🏽. I’ll be back 🍸🍹

I thoroughly enjoy going to the village idiot but had a horrible experience with a waitress last night. Accusing my boyfriend of lying after she had served us the wrong drink. I had kindly states she had mistaken our order and she instantly called us liars and started fighting with us, when I’m in an environment like that I expect to be treated with respect and will always show that back. In this case, zero respect was given and I will not forget this, the manager was very understanding but I feel we still should’ve got compensation for the incident or some sort of apology from the waitress, but no- please teach your waitresses respect, it goes a long way
Had such an amazing night at Village Idiot! The vibe is unreal – the music is always on point and the energy in the place just pulls you in. The staff are friendly, fast, and actually make you feel welcome, even when it’s busy. Drinks were great, crowd was fun, and the atmosphere is the perfect mix of relaxed and wild in the best way. Whether you’re starting your night or ending it there, it never disappoints. Definitely one of the best spots in Cape Town for a proper night out. Can’t wait to go back! 🍻🔥
