A gorgeous, tranquil retreat in a quiet corner of Cape Town. The property was a dream, and made our honeymoon in Cape Town so special. There's so much to rave about - the rooms were adorable, clean and comfortable; the breakfast food was delicious, and the staff was incredible and friendly. Plus there were beautiful views of Table Mountain. The property isn't in the heart of Cape Town but EASILY accessible and quick to the top attractions. Plus, walkable to a few great restaurants on Kloof Street - the staff was great at recommending options. Highly recommend staying here!
I have stayed at Kensington Place a few times now, and absolutely love this property. Very unassuming from the street, it is a boutique oasis set in a quiet residential area just a few minutes away by car to Kloof Street. In the three years I’ve been coming here, the hospitality team has stayed the same. On my return visit, most of the team remembered me, and were incredibly warm and welcoming. All of the rooms I’ve had have been extremely comfortable, quiet, and well decorated, and the a la carte breakfast is excellent. I look forward to my next visit!
My husband and I stayed here for five nights at the beginning of our South Africa adventure. From the moment we arrived, the staff were incredibly attentive. It is in a beautiful location set back from Cape Town, and only minutes from Table Mountain. Quiet, peaceful and private. Our room was contemporary, clean and cozy. I could not fault the staff. They couldn’t do enough for us. I didn’t even have to do my own ironing. I was told we don’t iron on holiday. They were also very informative and recommended several restaurants to eat and booked these for us. The food was wonderful, especially the breakfast. My favourite was the eggs benedict with smoked salmon (florentine) and the fresh fruit. If you are looking for a unique retreat at the foot of Table Mountain this is definitely the place to be. I would highly recommend it.
We had an incredible stay at Kensington Place! The breakfast and fresh juices are incredible, and the staff is so attentive; we came home after a long day of hiking and exploring to find a bottle of bubbly, flowers, and chocolate in our room, plus hot water bottles tucked into the bed. Incredible hospitality!
Absolutely lovely stay and incredible hosts. We only stayed one night, but the folks at Kensington were incredibly accommodating. They let us check in early at 8am because they had open availability — it was amazing for us to shower and rest from our jet lag! They also upgraded us given they had a nicer room available at the time of checkin. Included breakfast and coffee is a nice touch (it’s delicious too!) and the staff was amazing — security with the taxis, hosts with recommendations, etc. I couldn’t recommend it enough. Also the views and hotel rooms are very trendy and comfortable.
