Best sandwich I've ever had. Amazing. Great prices and Mary is lovely, and she knows what she's doing. Wow! Very funny too. Highly recommend coming and I'll be back again everyday until I leave
Great neighborhood deli with absolutely nothing missing!! The vibe, the energy, the service, the products and produce… all of it faultless. Gets super busy, standing room only, but that’s what happens with any well loved place. Might be better to grab and go for others, but if you really want to soak it all in, it’s worth the wait and worth every ZAR. Bring a healthy dose of patience/ community spirit and a healthy appetite! Food is fantastic and so is the coffee. Being new in the neighborhood, I’m sure this will be a firm favourite and much frequented place!
I walked 3 miles to Giovanni’s and it was worth it. I got a rich, delectable, mouth-watering hot chocolate. But, they also have a nice shop to buy a variety of unique foods
Just walking around Giovanni's is a culinary adventure! If you're not hungry when you walk in, you will be soon enough. Everywhere you look, there are shelves and shelves of food. There is a large variety of baked goods and ready-cooked food. The dining area was chockablock, and people were waiting for a table. We bought fresh bagels and butternut soup to take away. Luckily, we bought extra bagels because we ate some in the car on the way home - delicious. And it was honestly the yummiest butternut soup I've ever bought. I chose some nougat and Turkish Delight while I was browsing, but put them back because they were overpriced by comparison.
i have been going to Gios for years but never really had an issue looking for stuff on the shelves. the staff are alays amzing and remember everyone! yesterday i went in with a list from home with some things ive nebver even heard of. i asked one of the staff members who basically pulled eveyone in to find the 2 things i needed (for greek cuisine) - next thing the owner/GM comes out and takes note of what i wanted and they placed an order for stuff i may be the only one who buys !! i just found the 'group norm' outstanding and very genuinely helpful. Bravo!
