An experience worth doing! Super friendly staff, amazing location and view and not importantly delicious food. Each dish was super special and unique with different flavors and ingredients. They make every single course special. Only downside: portion size is not big so don’t come when you’re starving
We came here for a special dinner on our honeymoon trip, and it was the culinary highlight of our time in SA. The service was very good, and despite us not having the views (it was evening and raining), the atmosphere was intimate and the room was very well laid out. We started with a cocktail each which were fantastic. As for the food, we tried everything from the tasting menu and absolutely loved it. Each course was an experience. It’s not the cheapest evening but very reasonable for fine dining and it’s one we won’t forget.
I had the pleasure of dining at Chef’s Warehouse while in Cape Town, and it was truly a standout culinary experience. We went for the curated tasting menu and shared everything so we could experience the full range of dishes. The entire evening felt intentional, every plate was introduced with such detail, which made the experience even more immersive. First, the views at night are absolutely breathtaking. You’re looking out over the city lights, and it creates such a beautiful, elevated atmosphere that complements the dining experience perfectly. Now, the food: • The oysters were unforgettable, easily a highlight for me. They had a citrusy brightness with a gentle kick of spice, refreshing, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. • The bread course was exceptional, not your typical bread, but something artisanal and thoughtfully crafted. Simple, but done extremely well. • The seafood dishes, including the seared tuna and another beautifully prepared fish course, were fresh, delicate, and packed with flavor. One dish that truly stood out was the springbok venison loin. Cooked medium rare to perfection, it was incredibly tender and rich. It was served over a deep, earthy mushroom base and paired with elements like a parmesan and garlic marjoram pear salad, confit chestnuts, and finished with a smoked beef bone marrow butter and a touch of port. Every bite felt layered and intentional, a perfect balance of richness, sweetness, and umami. Another beautifully creative dish featured a scallop-topped shumai (an open dumpling), paired with braised leeks, mussels, and a delicate champagne jelly. It was light, elegant, and thoughtfully constructed without being overpowering. Overall, the food was a solid 9/10. The only part that didn’t quite land for me was dessert, which I’d rate a 5/10. It just didn’t match the creativity and execution of the rest of the menu, and I’d recommend they work on that. The service was excellent from start to finish. Attentive, knowledgeable, and warm. Even though the weather was nice, there was a slight breeze, and without us asking, they brought us blankets, which was such a thoughtful touch and made the experience even more comfortable. Would I go back? Absolutely. I truly enjoyed the experience, and I think everyone visiting Cape Town should try it at least once.
The menu is absolutely fantastic, service is impeccable. Still dreaming about the pistachio risotto and the incredible dessert options. Loved all of the wait staff here! Would absolutely recommend to add your list if you’re in Cape Town.
Absolute banger! Super friendly staff with excellent service. We sat right by the fireplace and had a fantastic view over the Cape Flats. Menu on offer was varied and not a single dish missed the mark, wines paired beautifully with the food. Better come hungry though, the overall portion size is no joke!
