A strong adults-oriented option with a more contemporary feel and easy access to the beach. It works well if you want a lively but still upscale base.

Friends have been trying to get us here for years and now I see why! We had the best week at LA celebrating our neice's graduation! The staff was great! Special shout outs to Jonathan who kept our drinks full while we were at the pool and made sure we had everything we wanted. Alan, our butler, who was on top of our group dinner reservations every night. Daniel, who greeted us with a smile every morning at the club and had our coffee ready. He also entertained with his excellent dancing! Guillermo, who was always happy to offer suggestions for before and after dinner drinks. Marco, Pablo, and the event staff that kept things fun with trivia, casino, bracelet making, and the tequila tasting. I'm forgetting so many names! Everyone was more than happy to help out and make sure we were having the best time. New friends were made and by the end of the week we totally understood what people say when you become family here. We were embraced! There were other things that made the week great like our tierra suite accommodations, aqua club, cabana, beautiful pools, spa, foot massages, gorgeous ocean view, and food. However, the staff is what stood out the most! We can't wait to return again!
Overall we had a great stay at this property. The perk is that it is Adults only and the staff and food/restaurant service is excellent. We booked a cabana each day. If you don't reserve a spot, it will fill up quickly on the weekend and you won't have shade or a lounge chairs. Cabana staff is always nearby and do not forget to check on you. The beach area was nice. Could improve housekeeping, one day the hairdryer didn't work, one day we had no towels, bathmat or bottled water after housekeeping left. After calling, this was quickly corrected. Rooms and bathroom had little lighting and were quite dark.
This hotel is truly the best — the staff makes all the difference. I would need to mention so many people! Chef Germain and his team deserve congratulations for serving some of the best food we’ve had. At the pool, Edouard provided outstanding service, and Usiel at the pool bar was always so attentive and welcoming, always with a smile. Everyone here is incredibly kind. Chef William at the MB Restaurant was also amazing, and I could keep naming more people who made our stay special. If you are looking for excellent service, delicious food, and beautiful rooms, come to Live Aqua Cancun. Even the check-in experience was the best of the best — we arrived at 8 AM, and they gave us our room immediately at no extra charge. Super happy with our stay!
Live Aqua was an amazing experience for us. We stayed here a few years ago, and I’m just now getting around to leaving a review because we actually booked another trip there today for September (which, by the way, is a great month to visit). We’ve been to several other resorts that we’ve loved, but there’s just something that keeps drawing us back to Live Aqua. One of the things we appreciated most was how relaxing the resort feels. That may not be for everyone, but it’s exactly what we’re looking for when we want to get away for a few days. We’re not looking for clubbing, loud parties, or crazy music. If that’s what you want, this probably isn’t the resort for you. The vibe here is simple: wake up, enjoy a great breakfast, and then spend the day by the pool. You can rent a canopy for the day (I believe it was around $75 when we were there), and it even included a 20-minute foot massage. The canopies have curtains you can draw for extra privacy, which was a nice touch. There are several different pools throughout the property, including one with a swim-up bar. In the evenings, they typically have outdoor events and dinner shows that are fun to attend. Later at night, you can grab a drink at one of the bars, enjoy some live music, or head back to your room and order some excellent room service. I believe there are seven different restaurants throughout the resort, along with a few cafés and bars. Every place we tried was really good. We’ve had some disappointing food experiences at other high-end resorts, but Live Aqua absolutely delivers when it comes to dining. The variety of options is fantastic. When it comes to cleanliness, this place is spotless. There are staff members constantly cleaning the halls, rooms, pools, and common areas throughout the day. The entire resort feels exceptionally well-maintained. I know this is a longer review, but when you’re spending this kind of money on a vacation, it helps to know what you’re getting into. As a couple who has visited several resorts throughout Cancun and Playa del Carmen, we can confidently say that Live Aqua is a place we’ll keep coming back to. It may not be for everybody, but while you’re there, you’ll definitely meet guests who have visited five or more times and continue returning year after year. We’ll see you again in September, Live Aqua!
Beautiful but Quiet – The Good: We had a wonderful stay at Live Aqua Cancun. If your goal is to truly relax and recharge, this is an excellent choice. The resort is beautiful, impeccably clean, and exudes a calm, upscale atmosphere. • Service: Exceptional—the staff was consistently friendly and attentive. • Dining: The food quality surpassed our expectations for an all-inclusive. • Spa: A true highlight of the trip. It was peaceful, luxurious, and the most relaxing part of our stay. The Challenges: • Chair Availability: It was frustrating that pool and beach chairs were hard to come by (typically empty & being reserved by personal belongings) unless you paid for a cabana, which didn’t feel ideal. • Nightlife & Amenities: The evenings are very quiet, which is great for relaxing but limited if you are looking for nightlife. Additionally, we were disappointed to find the jacuzzi closed at 6:00 PM when we inquired about it being cold. Final Verdict: Overall, a great, high-quality resort for a calm getaway. If you value peace and quiet over late-night entertainment and don't mind the competition for lounge chairs, you will likely enjoy it here.
