The pink-walled classic. Though many treasures moved, it still holds thousands of incredible statues, mummies, and sarcophagi.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ **5/5 Stars — Egyptian Museum Cairo** **Absolutely Breathtaking Experience** The Egyptian Museum in Cairo is truly a treasure trove of ancient history. The sheer size of the collection is overwhelming in the best possible way — you could spend days here and still discover something new. **The Highlight:** Finally seeing the **Narmer Palette** in person was a dream come true! This iconic artifact from 3100 BCE, marking the unification of Upper and Lower Egypt, is even more impressive than in photos. The craftsmanship and historical significance left me speechless. **Why 5 Stars:** - Massive collection spanning millennia - World-famous artifacts you've read about in history books - The Narmer Palette alone is worth the visit - Skip-the-line tickets made entry seamless - Central location in Tahrir Square **Tip:** Give yourself at least 3-4 hours minimum. The museum is enormous, and you'll want to take your time with the major pieces. Early morning visits are less crowded. A must-visit for anyone interested in ancient civilizations. This museum brings 5,000 years of Egyptian history to life.

One of the best, well organized, enormous museums in the world. Everything is really well thought of. You have an amazing view of the pyramids, lots of stores for souvenirs, cafes, restaurant, etc. Even if you don't have a guide, you'll manage to enjoy the museum a lot, however I do recommend a local guide.

Only go if you have more than 2 hours. Not the biggest museum, but the collection is extensive and worth it. Highly recommend a guide to help you through the eras. You will find a very small statue of Khufu - the only remaining one of his likeness. Love it

Going to Cairo without visiting the Egyptian Museum is not a trip. Even though everyone is raving about the Grand Egyptian Museum now, the "old" one is more of a place where form and content are pleasantly congruent. Most important tip: be sure to book a tour guide, otherwise you'll miss the most beautiful exhibits.

The old Egyptian Museum is still absolutely worth visiting, even with the new museum in Giza. The collection is stunning—from Old Kingdom masterpieces to Greco-Egyptian works. The finds from Psusennes’ tomb, including the silver coffin, are especially unforgettable. My personal favorite was the statues of Akhenaten—beautiful, erotic, and rebellious all at once. The only real drawback is the lack of descriptions for many items. If you don’t already know Egyptian history, visiting with a guide would make the experience much more meaningful.
