Our local guide took us to Gad to try their Shawarma. My wife and I had the chicken shawarma roll. Possibly the best chicken shawarma we’ve ever had! Moist but well done chicken inside a thin roll!! We didn’t take a table as we were in a hurry, we got ours as to-go. I wish we had got 2 shawarmas each!

I was with my Egyptian friend, we asked for falafel, the service was very quick, food was okay but a bit dry. The street is very loud but the place is still suitable for conversations.

Our driver purchased us four falafel sandwiches with water. It tasted great we ordered just water it was the most inexpensive food I’ve had anywhere. The total cost was $1.00 like where can one eat like this? Please try it had chickpeas, lettuce, tomatoes and onions some sort of sauce. Fantastic was filling until supper! I wish I didn’t bite into them so sorry!

I heard it’s famous and after passing many times finally I decided to try, but the service is not so friendly, the waiters are rude and impatient, and the price is relatively higher than other places we order one shawarma, one shawarma meal (with very little fries) and one chicken cream soup ( portion is small) for 350 including 50 of tax. The food is generally delicious but still not really worth it for its price.

Fabulous spot right near the markets, perfect for a bite before or after (or in my case - both!) your visit. It is a bit chaotic downstairs, but if you are dining in you can head upstairs where they have English menus and table service. We told the man serving us we wanted to try the best dishes and he recommended the falafel and okra with veal as well as two meat dishes. Our first visit we got the falafel, okra, fried eggplant & the complementary hummus and bread they bring to the table - everything was fantastic! The spicy, stuffed falafel was perfect. Veal in the okra so tender. We went for our visit to the markets for a couple hours and decided to head back over and try the shawarma. Again, everything was delicious. Really enjoyed the fresh mango juice and the mint & lemon.
