The place is amazing, the service was wonderful from the moment we went in and we didnt even have any reservations. The food was so quick to arrive and super delicious and the presentation was amazing. The nile view is wonderful and calm and the atmosphere and location are perfect.

Last Friday, I went to Kebabgy at Sofitel with a group of foreigners. We were 6 people, and unfortunately, the service was terrible. The food itself was good, but it came very, very late. We were extremely hungry, and even after telling the manager several times to at least start preparing the appetizer salads, nothing improved. We had to repeat the same orders many times. They first served hot bread without anything to eat with, and when we asked to change the bread, it took a very long time. Everything took too much effort. The worst part was the Om Ali it was the worst I’ve ever had. It was very dry, had no milk, and tasted bad (photo attached). This place used to be much better, but this experience was very disappointing. I do not recommend it anymore

I recently visited Kababgy and overall had a memorable experience. The restaurant excels in several areas: the quality of the food was outstanding, the location is truly unique, and the view of the Nile adds a special charm to the dining experience. The atmosphere is vibrant yet relaxing, and the background music perfectly complements the setting, making it an ideal spot for a pleasant evening. However, despite these positives, I found it difficult to give this place a full five-star rating. There were a few issues that stood out. First, the staff were not welcoming and seemed reluctant to assist, which affected the overall hospitality. Second, most of the tables with the best river views were unavailable, limiting the opportunity to enjoy the scenery that makes this restaurant so appealing. Lastly, the pricing was surprisingly high for some basic dishes—for example, a simple starter costing around 750 EGP after tax felt excessive and not in line with expectations. In summary, Kababgy offers excellent food and a stunning location, but improvements in customer service, seating arrangements, and pricing would elevate the experience to match its premium setting.
