400 pound entry fee included a tall beer or cocktail, +2 bands, which played from about 10 PM until about 2 AM, both exceedingly good. Dancing, good vibes - would strongly recommend anyone looking to get amongst the small but very engaged Cairo live music scene! Booked through their website which took about 20 minutes to be confirmed, pretty seamless :)
I went there on a Sunday with my gf for a couple of drinks, this was my first time there (I even told the wait staff), and the waiters were extremely rude. First we had already made a reservation at the bar but they wanted to sit us somewhere where you can't even see the show when there was other available seats, I explained that I'd be okay with sitting at one of these tables till the guests arrive and finally they give us the seats. Then the band they hired plays one song and then leaves while wasting 40 mins+ tuning and learning the song they want to play like what?? And they charge you 300 entertainment fee per person for the band!! When we finally sit down and order our drinks just the second we recieve our drinks the waiter asks me to pay and says it's their policy, something like this should be explained when ordering not the second I receive my drink I've also never encountered this at any other bars and I don't think he did it with any other guests.. The wait staff would also stare at me when me and my gf would share a hug... Just a hug we weren't even handsy or anything but they stared like I was making out with their mother XD Really felt unwelcome, really disappointed by the experience since this place is hyped by so many Egyptians, personally I'd rather go to esca cueva and miss out on the local bands if its going to be this poor quality... From this experience I'll not go there again anytime soon. Other than this the atmosphere and the place looks nice, guests there are super friendly and you'll likely see some people dancing which is why we went there.
So we didn't have a reservation, we went there and we entered normally, we paid 300EGP per person (drink included) and everything was great. There was live music with 3 different bands, we could dance and feel free , alcohol was also served there. It was one of the best nights at Cairo
Proceeded to make a reservation here, as a tourist, fully paid for in USD and then I receive an email that my reservation is not approved. If you don’t welcome tourists visiting Cairo, then who is welcome here? Strongly advise against reserving or visiting this place. Do not spend your money here or they will scam you!!
Lovely place, but my white ass got scammed and I paid $45 for 3 drinks by card, also gave tip on top. Anyway; probably looked liked I didn’t care, and I still don’t, had a fun evening. Still I think it’s not appropriate. But then again, a good jazz bar should be a bit shady!
