Visited two years ago and I still think of it. Incredible structure and design, it feels taken out of a Sci-Fi movie with its impressive towers reaching the sky. The views from the top were truly amazing and it was magical since I was all alone. Would recommend it to anyone visiting Cairo. A real highlight of my life.
Good starting point for walk through old cario; our uber dropped us off close by and interesting walk throught the local (none tourist sections) local mosque nearly 800 years old worth a look too
A magnificent view for old Cairo and the old markets. It is truly an unforgettable experience to be on top one of the minarets overlooking old Cairo.
Welcome to Bab Zuweila, one of the most magnificent historic gates of old Cairo. Built in the 11th century during the Fatimid era, this gate has witnessed centuries of Egyptian history, culture, and daily life. As you walk through Bab Zuweila, you are stepping into a living museum filled with ancient architecture, vibrant markets, and the spirit of Cairo’s past Climb the towers of the gate to enjoy breathtaking panoramic views of historic Cairo and the famous Muizz Street. The area around Bab Zuweila is rich with traditional crafts, local food, and beautiful Islamic monuments that tell the story of a great civilization. A visit to Bab Zuweila is not just a walk through a gate—it is a journey through time. Discover the charm of Old Cairo and experience the heart of Egypt’s heritage
Children were all over the area begging for money, even some of them kept touching us and asking badly for money, I'm sure it's not about food, it's a full time job for the whole family. No police to prevent this?? This is one of the best places to visit in Cairo, yet it's been under the control of these people, and it seems like many people over the internet have complained about that, and no action was taken. Really sorry to see such a historical place not under the control of the government.
