Solid meal with a nice environment, professional service and hearty, rich food. The pancakes for dessert were amazing and so was the goat cheese starter with roasted beets. Thanks for the team making our birthday celebration special!

Came here twice during our stay in Budapest. Nice selection of Hungarian dishes. A must try are definitely the house Langos, the shrimp Caesar salad and the Gulyas. Mains-wise, we tried the wild boar with dumplings (quite nice but a bit rich), the salmon fillet on peas risotto (actually very tasty, still a large plate) and the Brassoi style pork (nice and very rich). For desserts, we tried the Somloi which was amazing. On our last occasion, one waiter especially helped us with our questions about the Hungarian cuisine and ingredients.

I had been curious about Stand25 for a long time, and I went with fairly high expectations. Unfortunately, the service was problematic right from the start, and it also wasn’t particularly friendly. We ordered the first round of drinks, which arrived, then our food order was taken — but two of us had also ordered cocktails that arrived late. By the time half of the group was already eating their soup, we were still waiting for our drinks, which meant we couldn’t even make a proper toast before dinner at what was a company Christmas dinner. We were served a complimentary starter — bread with spreads, likely homemade — which was excellent. The food overall was good and well prepared, but not extraordinary in my case. I can only comment on my own dish; everyone else at the table seemed very happy with their food, so it’s entirely possible that other dishes were indeed extraordinary. One thing that stood out for me was how difficult it was to find dairy-free options. I did find suitable main courses, but several dishes that otherwise looked appealing contained dairy either in the sides or components. To their credit, the staff were accommodating and changed my side dish without any issue. Desserts, however, were entirely dairy-based. I understand that dairy plays an important role in both Hungarian and classic cuisine, but nowadays this is a real limitation for many guests. This is not an inexpensive place. Overall, the experience was good — but given the reputation and expectations, I was hoping for more.

Our server person was excellent. She was able to understand our likes for the pairing and helped to guide the experience so professionally but with a friendly and warm energy. The overall food and service was exceptional and we truly appreciated the night with Stand25. Merci.

Generally the food is nice, but not everything goes well. The foie gras (not in the photos) is very good; the crispy bread, foie gras, and the fruity sauce go well with each other. The goulash is also great with rich meaty flavor. The fish is good by itself, but the bread-ish side things that taste sour are not really my taste. The pasta is too soggy in my opinion (but maybe others like this). The shrimp on top of the pasta is great.
