We had 14 course with wine and non alcoholic juice pairing. Staff was super professional, they explained everything well regarding the dishes and drinks, where its from, what are the ingredients, how its made, whats the story. Enjoyed how many chefs also came to our tables to describe their creations. Interior feels nice, clean, quiet, somewhat exclusive while still somewhat casual — in a good way. Many courses made from ingredients that are locally grown, farmed and sourced, feels moral and ethical. Presentation was tastful, pretty and crafty but not overdone. All courses felt special, enjoyable and high attention to detail. I only have two things I’d prefer differently. One of them would be if filtered water would not cost extra 5 euros. It just feels silly to me to charge for water at this level. The other one is that I think it would be a bit more tasteful if while paying the staff would not mention anything about tipping. The total already includes 15% service fee, the payment terminal requires you to choose to either no tip or a certain percentage anyway so I feel like the staff mentioning tipping just creates unnecessary pressure. Overall I really enjoyed our experience and once courses are new we will definitely visit again.
Some dishes are very nice but some other average or basic. For the rate they charge I had higher expectations and was expecting better overall dining experience. Loved the mushroom dish and the deserts at the end. Still, a really nice environment and very good service but I think they need to revisit the menu and also ask for feedback from their guest in a genuine manner and not pretend that their menu is unquestionable.
Need a reservation to get in, so don’t leave it to last minute Prices are on website, but it’s quite a lot 14 course menu, we got the wine pairing as well It’s a Michelin star restaurant and the people here are the best. Genuinely best levels of service I’ve ever had You don’t fill up on the food, but they pack so much into each course. They know where each part of the food comes from and the presentations are nicely done
Just returned from a journey across Europe that included stops in Italy, Hungary, and Denmark. Along the way we dined at multiple Michelin-starred restaurants including Noma, Rumour, Moi Roma, and Sushi Anaba to name a few. Of these, Salt was our FAVORITE! Aside from the food, what stood out the most to us was seeing chef Szilárd Tóth. His passion and pride for his work was evident through his smile and the compassion he showed towards his staff and guests. If I'm fortunate enough to make it back to Budapest in this lifetime, Salt will be the first place I stop. Thank you chef Szilárd Tóth for creating such a wonder experience and creating a memory that will be remembered with fondness for years to come! Köszönöm!!
Amazing service and kind staff. Every dish tasted amazing, especially the greasy bread, duck hash, and gypsy roast.
