The hotel was so beautiful. We had a suite it and it was very comfortable and roomy. The staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel bar - The Street Bar at the Newbury Hotel was unbelievable. The best drinks. The best staff. The best atmosphere. Tyler was a phenomenal bartender with recommendations for places to see and restaurants to visit around the city. His signature cucumber cocktail was excellent.

I had a wonderful stay at The Newbury Boston. The service was attentive and professional, and the overall ambiance of the hotel was exceptional. There is a timeless quality to the property—it genuinely feels like stepping into an old American film, with classic elegance blended seamlessly with modern comfort. It quickly became one of my favorite hotels in Boston. The amenities were excellent throughout my stay, and the rooftop restaurant, Contessa, was a standout. The abundance of natural light, beautiful views, and relaxed yet refined atmosphere made it a perfect place to spend time, whether for breakfast or simply enjoying the space. Overall, The Newbury delivers a memorable experience that feels both luxurious and warm.

I was here in Feb 2026 for a business meeting. This was my first time at this property. Usually not a place I pick when in Boston. This is a historic property. The charm to match and the local area history to back it up. Right across from Boston Common (park) and on Newbury Street within walking distance of some upscale stores including a rear access to the Tiffany store itself. I was impressed with this property. Class and charm and luxury all put together. The service was impeccable and very attentive. I even dined at the restaurant on the 17th floor and that too was perfect. The bar/restaurant on in the lobby level is charming as well with a library setup for good quiet talking/meeting corners. I can see this place being a good romantic getaway when in Boston. For select business travel this might be a place to hang. It is 'Leaders Club' property so frequent stays are on that program.

The Newbury Boston gave us an absolutely extraordinary wedding weekend. From start to finish, the hotel staff and events team were exceptional: polished, warm, detail-oriented, and genuinely invested in making the entire experience feel seamless and special. A special shoutout to Maia & Laura, our onsite event contacts; both were incredibly helpful both leading up to the wedding and throughout the day itself. Maia kept everything moving with grace, calm, and professionalism, and helped make the entire weekend feel beautifully managed. We also want to recognize Charles, the head of guest experience, who made us feel welcome and completely comfortable from the moment we were brought to our suite. The wedding itself was stunning. The catering was top notch, the service was attentive without ever feeling intrusive, and every food and beverage moment felt elevated. Our guests repeatedly commented on how beautiful the spaces were, how excellent the meal was, and how well the entire evening flowed. The hotel is also just a spectacular setting. The common spaces are beautifully appointed, elegant, and distinctly Boston, and the suites are equally impressive. We stayed in the Mansion Suite, which became such a memorable home base for the weekend. The team went above and beyond with personal touches: our in-room bar was stocked with our favorite bourbon and gin, there was an emergency late-night supply of chicken tenders in the freezer, and the room service staff could not have been more thoughtful or attentive. For a wedding, special event, or luxury Boston stay, The Newbury is truly in a class of its own. We are so grateful to the entire team for making our wedding weekend feel effortless, personal, and unforgettable. Five stars without hesitation.

The Newbury Boston is undeniably a beautiful property with an elegant atmosphere and a great location. However, my experience was disappointing due to how complicated simple interactions felt. I did not feel particularly welcomed by the front desk, and when trying to get a table at Street Bar, the process felt more like an interrogation than hospitality. Instead of feeling relaxed and taken care of, I left feeling uncomfortable and out of place. I believe hospitality should make guests feel at ease regardless of appearance, and unfortunately that was not my experience here.
