I have only been to Royale Boston twice so far in my life to date, but each time has been so incredibly memorable! I first came to Royale in 2011 for Above & Beyond's "Group Therapy" album tour with Jaytech opening. What a night that had been! Place was packed! Then just this past Friday the 16th of January, 2026, I came to Royale to support my friend and one of my favorite artists, Kaeno (Deon Butler) for his Nefarious Things album tour kickoff!! Local Boston talent Drainiac warmed things up with some seriously proper Trance and Progressive, then Kaeno took the stage and absolutely leveled the dancefloor! Kaeno was followed by Sarah de Warren (who delivered a set full of raw, powerful Techno reminiscent of the late 90s Techno) and Scottish powerhouse, David Forbes (his set was predominantly Tech Trance, sprinkled with a few Trance Classics that has a Techy twist)! Everybody had one hell of a killer time (from doors opening at 10 pm til shut down time at 2 am). The atmosphere at Royale Boston is unmatched, the layout is well thought out and spacious, plenty of room to get your freak on on the dancefloor. And it has nice touches harkening back to its days when it uses to be an opera house! Staff for the most part is friendly and cordial, security is a bit uptight, but hey, they're security, whaddya want?! Drinks however are expensive as all get out, so if you're going to be imbibing a lot, expect to empty your wallet. Coat check is only $5 bucks, so that's easy enough. So if you're looking for a night out on the town and are ready to dance your ass off or at the least vibe to the rhythm and beat of the music (like I always do), then look no further than Royale Boston at 279 Tremont Street in the Theater District of Beantown!
I attended a concert here recently and had an incredible night. This mid-sized venue has all the charm of an older concert hall with excellent sound. Upon arrival there was a line at opening which was managed well by the staff. There are chairs and couches inside and re-entry on select shows that make this a standout location in Boston. Their bartenders are friendly, however I did not see any food options, but it's a default metric for the review. I look forward to coming back for another memorable night and recommend visiting the Royale for any concert.
We had an absolute blast at a recent event held here over the weekend. The staff were all enthusiastic and engaging and there were lots of great bartenders so getting drinks was immediate rather than a typical long wait you would normally experience on a Saturday. The music was awesome, the ambiance was energetic, the crowd was fun, and there were two ladies rooms with several stalls so no long line if you needed to use one (always a major bonus, haha). I'd definitely recommend if you're looking for a cool spot!
I went to a show here for the first time ever a couple weeks back with some friends. I was so impressed with the black light/club/elegant old world style (yet modernized) interior and design of the place. I loved that we had to walk up, instead of in or down, to get to the central floor where the concert was. The crowd was amazing, and it was a great vibe from everyone there. Security did a great job maintaining a good environment where everybody can come together without any trouble. I also love that there is a large parking garage right across the street. Convenience and proximity for those driving into the city is not a problem here! Drinks were expensive ($10 per beer) but that’s honestly the standard In a pricey city like Boston, New York, DC etc. The bartenders were great, prompt and professional with the service and I tipped them well for it! This business is very professional, and honestly I can’t wait to come back for the next show. EDM/Bass/House for life. Thank you Royale!
Just saw two feet last night. Great venue/sound/atmosphere/staff. A little dated but really clean.
