Great visit to the museum while visiting Boston! We went as a group of adults and had a blast but the museum is definitely designed to be more kid friendly. They have a large area of bones and shells and taxidermy animals that are super interesting and cool.
People told us that the Museum of Science is among the best science centers in the country. After spending two hours there, there is a lot to see and experience. Here's our take on the Museum of Science visiting with our nine-year-old daughter. 1) Admission: Visiting from Washington, D.C. where many museums are free, it's always abrasive to pay so much for museums. For the three of us to visit with an IMAX ticket too, it was $120+. To their credit, they stamped our tickets so we could go back again within six months since we went two hours before closing. Staff were super helpful and kind. 2) Space: There are three floors well organized with clear signage. There are areas for smaller kids and some for older kids. My nine-year-old enjoyed the robot dog and the arctic experience. 3) IMAX: We paid for the 50-minute rescue dog movie. It was engaging and inspiring! It does bring up some disasters like terrorism and earthquakes so be prepared for that if your child has a big imagination.
A big science museum that has many areas for exploration, exhibition and imax, 4d movies. It is kept up to speed with the latest tech, such as AI tech exhibit. My daughter spent a couple of hours in the Engineering Design workshop which was a ton of fun and educative activities. The museum has a great view facing Charles River.
We visited the Museum of Science in Boston with our kids (ages 8 and 11), and it was one of the highlights of our trip. The hands-on science exhibits were engaging, educational, and incredibly fun. The live electricity demonstration was absolutely out of this world and kept both kids and adults fascinated throughout the show. We were also impressed by the AI-powered exhibits and interactive experiences that made learning exciting and relevant to today’s technology. The museum has three floors packed with activities, experiments, and displays, and there was something interesting around every corner. Our kids stayed engaged for hours and still wanted more. If you’re visiting Boston with children, this is a must-visit destination. It’s the perfect blend of education, innovation, and fun for the whole family.
Last time I’ve been there was 16 years ago. This time I brought my wife. We were both stunned by the exhibits. For me the mechanical and physical demonstrations were the ones I’ve spent more time. It’s an amusement park for knowledge seekers. Great place for kids as well. We spent almost four hours there and it wasn’t enough.
