Amazing. Im really impressed by how useful the signs by the bones and old extinct dinasaures and mammales are. Glass flower exhibit made only for harvard in 1904-1914, one of a kind, still on display. great taxidermy animals (mammals and fish and birds)!! Really good (ok collection is like 100+ years old and animals really jammed together. Some have better personalities and internal structure than others, but sheer volumn and the placement of bone skeletons next to taxidermy skins is great for comparson). Rock and gem area is fabulous. Not small rocks. It's almost overwhelming to see so many together, and grouped into rock families. I like the exhibits, but i rate this museum high because the signage was inciteful, readable and explained how items were grouped. There were kids groups going through scavenging hunting for answers. And workers around to answer exhibit questions. Reasonble price, and can see a few other nearby museums. I was there on a weekday

You could spend the whole day in here! We only explored the natural exhibitions and didn't see the archeology part of the museum and still it took us around 2-3 hours to see everything. The Blaschke glass flowers, plants and sea creatures are something otherworldly! Also a great fossil display and we enjoyed the many colorful minerals and rocks. What a remarkable collection!

We had a fantastic experience visiting the Harvard Museum of Natural History and it ended up being one of the most interesting museums we visited in the Boston and Cambridge area. We arrived on a Monday right when it opened at 9:00 AM, which turned out to be a great decision because the museum was calm and quiet early in the morning. By around noon, it became noticeably busier with more visitors and families arriving, so coming early definitely helped us enjoy the exhibits more comfortably. We spent about four hours there and could easily have stayed even longer. There is so much to see because the experience combines several museums and collections together in one place. Every section offered something unique and fascinating, making the visit feel educational and exciting from start to finish. One of our favorite parts was the zoological museum section. The animal displays were incredibly detailed and impressive, with a huge variety of species from around the world. It was fascinating to see the different exhibits and learn more about wildlife, evolution, and natural history. The displays were organized very well and easy to follow. The famous Glass Flowers collection was another major highlight of the visit. The craftsmanship is truly unbelievable. It is hard to imagine that the flowers and plants are actually made entirely out of glass because the details look so realistic and delicate. This exhibit alone is worth visiting the museum for. We also enjoyed the exhibits related to Central American history and culture. There were many interesting artifacts and displays that provided insight into the region’s history and traditions. The museum does a great job balancing science, culture, and history, so there is something for everyone to enjoy. Overall, the museum is extremely well organized, informative, and engaging. There are countless exhibits to explore, and the variety keeps the experience exciting throughout the entire visit. Whether you are interested in animals, plants, history, or science, you will definitely find something memorable here. We left very impressed and happy with our visit. The Harvard Museum of Natural History is absolutely worth spending several hours exploring, and we highly recommend it to anyone visiting Cambridge or Boston. It is a beautiful and fascinating place that offers a great experience for both adults and children.

Amazing museum. It feels like we are getting a close look at a naturalist's collection and sampling of the world. The volunteers are very informative. And that glass flower/plant collection is WOW.

Didn’t go in as they were asking for $10 entry. Not that I mind paying this but such a world renowned University would ask this would imply is probably not worth seeing. With the right strategy you would encourage many to come for free and the right ones will aspire to attend in the future. The rest of the campus looks very nice. Clean and traditional brick buildings which wouldn’t be out of place in Oxford or Cambridge (UK)which is ironic as this is in the Cambridge area of Boston
