I was told that the cheese pizza here was one of the best pizzas they have ever had. I usually dislike cheese pizza due to the lack of salty proteins but I was very pleasantly surprised. It is very light for being pizza. We also got the panzarotti which was filled with potato and cheese. It was good but personally I wish there was some kind of a sauce to add some moisture. If I lived around this place I’d probably come every week. Owner seems really chill too!
Gem...Wow This restaurant is one of the best pizza in Boston! It's on Hanover Street, Galleria Umbertos is a cash only. Eat in and take out lunch spot. They get long lines and are opened for lunch and close when the food has sold out for the day. No leftovers ever! The restaurant is owned by two brothers both natives of the North End. Hands down the best pizza in Boston! from the Pizza dough to the sauce you can taste the love and hard work put into this pizza l love it! They also sell pizza dough and pizza by the pan for take out...The interior is old school and outdated but it's authentic... The prices could not be more reasonable...If you like cheap, tasty, fresh authentic Italian food served in a warm environment in an old school, Mom and Pop restaurant with amazing prices, this place is for you! 100% recommend!
You may walk right by this place, it's very unassuming. But the locals know! And they are right! After a short line, we ordered 4 perfect slices of pizza (Sicilian style cheese), just like my Grandma used to make. We also shared an arancini, which was the BEST I've ever tasted. It had a perfect crunchy exterior with authentic stuffing of ragu, mozzarella, and peas. Plenty of seating to sit and enjoy your meal. I think we paid under $15 for all that food, which was even sweeter!
We were really excited about this place given the reviews and line for the food. Ultimately we left a bit disappointed but maybe we got what we paid for, as everything was less than $9. Sicilian pizza was not as cheesy as we hoped and tasted a bit overdone. Arancini was warm and cheesy but lacked a strong flavor. If you’re looking for a cheap eat this may fit the spot but think there’s better food options in the North End.
This place has to be on your list to visit if ever in Little Italy in Boston Mass. Incredible pizza,so flavourful, the mozzarella tasted like there was Romano mixed in it and it was so delicious. The potato croquette (wow) and the arancini were delicious. No frills kind of place but I was thrilled eating their food. 🍕
