Former airport-turned-public park, with massive lawns for biking, walking, picnics & recreation.via Google

A massive former pre-war airport closed in 2008 and converted into a public park where locals cycle, run, and barbecue on the runways.

Good to know
Free; check seasonal opening hours as the park gates lock at sunset.

Incredible former airport turned into a park in the middle of the city You can either go for a run, cycle, walk or just chill there with friends and have a picnic. The park is so big you can have all the privacy you want if you prefer that, or there's areas that are a bit more crowded as well. Really quiet and peaceful in the middle of a big city. Definitely recommend to go if you have the time, very pleasant

A very pleasant place for sports and picnics, with the possibility of grilling and setting up a barbecue. Please note that flying drones of any size is prohibited in this area.

Special place. Nice for a walk/run/bike ride. It's not every day you get to walk on a runway... Visitor center is interesting and informative. The small cafe up in the Tower is also very nice.

Massive old aiport turned into park with great areas for walking, cycling, or having a picnic. Many events take place in it in summer and it is always busy. The worst part about it is that there are no areas with any shade or cover so when it is too sunny, it is not a good idea to have a BBQ or picnic there. Also the toilets are horrible and they absolutely need to install more there.

Named after the knights templars who once owned and defended the space. Now a mostly open airstrip that was heavily used in the last 100 years. Not a super relaxing space as it’s so open but good for bike rides and dog walks.
