Don’t let the lack of reservations fool you - we walked in about 6pm on a weekday and sat just fine. About 15 eur per drink, good drinks and fun top-down view of a few animal exhibits at the zoo. Nice place to relax a bit, probably not worth going back

Cool bar with a nice view of the city and right next to the city Christmas market which is good. The cocktails were themed and tasted nice but actually quite expensive compared to other places. Service was good and there was a live DJ so the vibe was cool and a lot of people around even for a Sunday night.

Background Monkey Bar sits on the tenth floor of the 25hours Hotel Bikini Berlin. Its name comes from the panoramic views it affords over Berlin Zoo’s monkey house Ambience The bar feels cosy and intimate at night. When the sun is up, the floor-to-ceiling windows reveal a sweeping view of the zoo and city skyline, earning some of its reputation as a prime sundowner terrace. Music and chatter fill the air, with DJ sets occasionally bringing a lively buzz without overwhelming the space. Service Service was good without being exceptional. Staff were prompt in taking orders and friendly in manner, but the interaction stayed largely transactional rather than immersive. Food/Drink The drinks here lean into creativity and visual appeal. The menu offers a range of inventive cocktails alongside classic choices and fine wine. Overall It is an excellent, conversation-starting location for drinks with friends, offering a cosy nocturnal vibe or a quirky daytime spectacle.

Monkey Bar is one of those places that nails the vibe but doesn’t quite justify the price—still, it’s absolutely worth a visit at least once. Perched on the rooftop of the 25hours Hotel next to the Berlin Zoo, it offers a unique blend of urban chic and wild views. Sipping a cocktail while watching monkeys swing around in the distance? Weirdly relaxing, totally Berlin. The decor is funky, fun, and just the right amount of over-the-top. Rooftop seating can be hard to snag during peak hours, but if you time it right, the sunset views over the zoo and Tiergarten are genuinely stunning. The cocktail menu is creative, and the drinks are solid—though you’re definitely paying more for the setting than the mixology. Same goes for the bar bites: tasty, but you’ll leave hungry unless you're just here to graze. Service was friendly but not particularly fast, especially when the place gets busy. Still, the overall experience is cool enough to overlook a few minor flaws. Not somewhere I’d make a habit of, but for a one-time splurge or a fun outing with friends? It delivers.
