I was at Lido last week for a Mum concert, and although the concert was wonderful, the place was terrible. We were there from the moment the doors opened, and since we didn’t have any cash with us, the bouncer wouldn’t let us leave to withdraw money to pay for the cloakroom and the toilet. We had to stay through the concert holding our winter jackets. But the biggest failure was the air conditioning. I stood near the stage where there was a constant blast of extremely hot air that made me feel faint! It was seriously too much. Then, towards the end of the concert, suddenly cold air started blowing, and now I am sick. It was really unbearable. Another awful thing was the noise from the bar during the concert! The concert was electrifying, sometimes meditative and quiet. And often during those quiet moments, there was loud clinking of glass at the bar—maybe bottles? Total disrespect for the musicians.
LIDO Berlin – A True Home for Indie Music LIDO in Berlin is more than just a venue — it’s a heartbeat, a home, and a cornerstone of the indie music scene. Tucked away in the heart of Kreuzberg, it has a unique charm that’s hard to describe but instantly felt. There’s a rawness to it, a sense of authenticity that’s increasingly rare in today’s polished, commercialized world. What makes LIDO so special is its unwavering commitment to the independent music community. While other venues have chased trends, LIDO has consistently offered its stage to emerging talents, local legends, and those with something real to say. It’s the kind of place where you can see a future star one night and an underground cult favorite the next. The atmosphere is intimate, the acoustics are excellent, and the team behind the scenes clearly cares. It always feels like they’re there for the music — not just the business. Some of my most unforgettable live experiences happened here — moments of connection, energy, and pure magic that only LIDO can create. It’s a place where music feels alive, where the crowd becomes part of the show, and where memories are made. Berlin wouldn’t be the same without LIDO. Long may it live, loud and proud.
Small cozy club with a nice smoking room. But it's kinda annoying that you have to pay to use the toilet. Went to the 90's party once and went again for a small concert. Concert was super nice. But it closes at a very odd time of 3 am for a club.
Cool place for black metal concerts. Beer is a good and you can pay with card or cash. There is a smoking area inside the venue also with is cool.
I went for a concert by the Bulgaria band Molec yesterday (16.3.24) at this place and found it very picturesque and cool! It has really pleasant atmosphere inside and the bar is really nice! There is also a cloakroom which is also cool! Overall a really cool small venue. I've included some photos of the venue.
