I recently hosted some impromptu drinks at the hotel bar. The hotel and its staff were amazing from start to finish. Every effort was made to accommodate my guests, with incredible levels of service at every point. I was delighted with their faultless service at every point. I will be back!
We ate at the rooftop terrace and had some cocktails. Food & drinks were extremely overpriced. Good, but overpriced. Talking a small rhubarb spritz for $27. 😲 The worst part was the horrific cigar smoke stench coming from two tables down. Tragic they allow smoking while people are trying to eat & breathe. Heaven forbid someone be able to enjoy a nice view & FRESH air. 👎🏼👎🏼
A beautiful hotel located in easy walking distance of many of the top attractions. The attention to detail really stood out and the room tidying was simply next level. There's a very well appointed gym too and the staff training is clear to see. Odd detail but - it might well also have the best bread I've ever eaten!
This hotel has been our best experience in Germany so far. It’s conveniently located near Berlin’s famous museum island, and there are also nearby public transportation options for exploring other attractions. The bathroom has a heated floor, and I loved the view from my balcony of the Französischer Dom. One of the standout features of this hotel is its exceptional room service. Unlike other hotels I’ve stayed in, the food always arrived hot in my room. Currently in The Fontenay in Hamburg, they couldn’t even serve breakfast hot from kitchen in the dining room. The only minor issue I encountered was that I requested a refill of conditioner, but it never arrived. It wasn’t a major problem, but it was still a bit disappointing. Despite this minor setback, I’m hopeful that the hotel will continue to maintain its high standards and excellence. I’m excited to see what the future holds for this great hotel.
We spent a long weekend at Hotel de Rome and absolutely loved it. The location is perfect – right in the heart of Berlin, with everything in walking distance. The building itself, a former bank, has real character. It’s stylish and elegant without feeling over the top. Our room was fantastic – modern, spotless, and came with a private rooftop terrace. Service throughout the hotel was consistently excellent: friendly, attentive, and very professional – from the front desk to room service and the restaurant staff. The spa, set in the old bank vault, is a real highlight – truly unique. The gym is also very well equipped (Technogym & Concept2 machines), and we really enjoyed using it. The restaurant was another highlight – great food, attentive service, and a relaxed atmosphere. In short: if you’re looking for a stylish hotel with history, outstanding service, and a prime location, this is the one. Highly recommended – we’ll be back.
