These guys will turn anything into art. I can’t pretend i’m cultured enough to understand it and I think most of the people are snobs cause I saw someone sneak in a tableau of a cheese and ham sandwich and people were like 🧐hmm🤔 I wonder what the artist meant. And one of the Etruscan(i think) exhibits belongs in the Neues Museum with the rest of the collection, where they have a picture of it, instead of the photo gallery which was about an entirely different topic. It was cool to walk around and see the art. Most had some deep meaning behind it!

The Hamburger Bahnhof offers an impressive historic setting and ambitious programming as Berlin's key venue for contemporary art. However, the current conception of exhibitions tends to prioritise expansive, large-scale installations that span multiple rooms, resulting in lengthy walks through comparatively sparse displays with limited variety among artists. Traditional forms such as painting are underrepresented, and the works on view often align with established German mainstream positions rather than venturing into more daring or diverse territory. The overall presentation feels increasingly conventional, overly cautious, and aligned with prevailing trends—lacking the bold risks that could distinguish a leading institution of contemporary art. Admission at €16 for adults (with concessions at €8) appears disproportionately high relative to the depth and density of artistic content provided. While the museum holds significant potential, greater emphasis on a richer selection of works and more courageous curatorial choices would substantially elevate the visitor experience.

Incredible exhibitions. This museum offers a very wide selection of captivating contemporary art. Definetely make sure you have enough time to visit the exhibitions throughfully!!

The big advantage of this museum is its building, so it’s a perfect place for modern collections. As for the exhibitions, some are really touching, while others are not my cup of tea. But if you’re interested in modern art, you should definitely visit it.

The new temporary exhibitions once again managed to surprise positively. One with an almost mythos appeal of a legacy brought to life for a brief moment and the artistic work of an opera (kind-off)
