The place is nice and I like going there every time when I am in Berlin The atmosphere is very pleasing and sensing that you are walking in a place where many historical moments happened is amazing. You need to go in day light time and in night to see how beautiful is the gate. Do not forget to have a cup of coffee in one of many cafes near the gate.
It’s a gate and it’s free so yeah it’s crowded with people flocking to take photos, lucky for me when I was there it was totally empty. But on the next day when I was passing by it was filled with crowds. So would recommend coming in the morning before 10.30am because after that is when the tourists flock and gets too busy. Overall nice place to sit and reflect on your life while embracing the beauty of the architecture.
The architecture is simply stunning with a contrasting style from the modern-brutalist style, to a gorgeous, neo-classical columned gate, for the wonderful Tiergarten park. It has many food and drink vans with some live music if you enjoy that. Sometimes, it can get very crowded, especially from the front side. You MUST go for any type of trip to Berlin! Have fun on your travels!
I absolutely love this gate, the ultimate symbol of Berlin. I also enjoy the area there with shops and restaurants and some very nice churches around. It is a great photo spot if you come early because it can get crowded.
Cool gate! The symbol of Germany! Not too much more to say. Make sure to look at pictures of the gate from war time, so you truly grasp how far Germany has risen since the 40s. Plenty of shopping on the main courtyard strip, and the US embassy is right next door. Kinda neat.
