We specially flew in from Singapore to dine at Xin Rong Ji on Xinyuan South Road, and it was absolutely worth it. The dishes—from the delicate appetizers to the standout Crab Marrow Ball, Steamed Hairy Crab, and beautifully executed main courses—were refined, flavorful, and memorable. Even the fried rice and the Osmanthus & Chestnut Ice-Cream were exceptional. What made the experience truly outstanding was the warm hospitality. Every service staff member was attentive, friendly, and made us feel genuinely welcome. Special thanks to Crystal for her thoughtful care throughout the evening, and to the sommelier for the excellent wine recommendations. A wonderful meal and an even more wonderful team—we’ll definitely return.
Most Michelin‑recommended Chinese restaurants make me cautious, as the food and service often fall short of the hype and you are left wondering how they made it onto the list. Beijing Xin Rong Ji (Xinyuan South Road), however, truly meets the three‑star “worth a detour” standard. The cooking is refined and immaculate, from humble home‑style dishes that exemplify the idea of elevating simple ingredients, to more elaborate preparations executed with complete ease and confidence. What makes the experience even more remarkable is that a three‑star restaurant waives corkage, a rare luxury that shows real respect for guests who love bringing their own bottles. 🍾 The sommelier’s professionalism and depth of knowledge further enhance the meal, turning the wine service into a genuine highlight rather than a mere formality.
A truly sublime dining experience from start to finish. The food at Xinrongji completely lives up to its 3-star Michelin reputation. The Beijing duck paired with caviar was an absolute standout—perfectly executed and incredibly flavorful. Another major highlight was the yellow drum (yellow corvina), which was cooked to absolute perfection. Beyond the exceptional cuisine, the service here is world-class. I was particularly impressed by the attentiveness and genuine care of the restaurant manager, who looked after us throughout the evening and made the night feel incredibly special. Thank you.
