I fortunately stayed at The PuXuan Hotel and Spa over a two-day business trip to the capital city. Check-in was very smooth, and I loved the quiet, understated feel throughout the property. The room had all the luxury touches and felt like a space where I could rest and recover well. My morning run around the hotel was such a treat, exploring Beihai Park and the Forbidden City. Breakfast was absolutely perfect, combining an à la carte menu with a buffet offering both Western and Beijing classics. The PuXuan is an extraordinary oasis in the heart of Beijing, and a favorite of mine.

This is a true modern luxury hotel, combining high technology, comfort, and elegant design. The room layout was excellent and very well planned. One detail I will not forget is the in room safe. Calling it a safe almost feels unfair, as it was closer to a private vault. It was a fun and memorable detail that added character to the room. For me, one of the first things I look at in a hotel is the bathroom. It has to be spacious, well designed, and include a proper walk in shower. The bathroom was exactly that. I also really liked the toiletries, especially the shampoo and body gel. I forgot to take a photo, but the scent was one of the nicest I have experienced in a hotel. The mattress was extremely comfortable, which made the stay even better. I also tried the room service, and for me, this test always starts with the burger. I ordered the double patty Angus burger, and it was very good. Well prepared, satisfying, and exactly the kind of comfort dish you want from hotel room service. Breakfast was another highlight. I loved the selection, as it catered very well to both local and international guests. It felt balanced, thoughtful, and simply perfect. Overall, this hotel delivers a strong modern luxury experience with excellent room comfort, smart design, high quality facilities, and very thoughtful details. I left with a very positive impression and would be happy to return.

Nice room layout, minimalist decor and contemporary. Panoramic view of old Beijing and JingShan Park. Decent room automation. And it has a huge artwork safe to store your valuables or maybe the whole bag. Housekeeping was competent. Concierge service was great. Breakfast at Rive Gauche was alright. Location wise, it is near to the National Art Museum of China and a bit far from the happening Wangfujing area.

The staff here tries very hard to make guests feel welcome. But the week we were here the hotel was nearly empty and it felt kinda spooky. Some guests might like that though! The room layout is a bit funky and the lighting in the bathroom not so good. The portions in the French restaurant are tiny, even by French standards and neither the French or Chinese restaurant has much for a vegetarian option. We had to drive to all the nearby attractions, the Forbidden City, Tianamen Square, etc as they were just a bit far to walk. I would not go back to this hotel.

The room has plenty of space. The staff was overall responsive. The design of the elevators was rather awkward, you need to take two separate ones to get to the fourth floor, for example. The place is close to the city center, but there is really no view from the hotel room. The breakfast is a combination of buffet and ordered service, with limited selections.
