MICHELIN Guide Restaurants Lao Chuan Ban In 1979, the branch office of Sichuan provincial government in Beijing opened this restaurant to cure the homesickness among travelling Sichuan officials with comfort food from home. It opened its doors to the public in 1995 and has been a popular spot among locals ever since. The room was updated recently, but the prices remain approachable. Come here for the all-time classics: mouth-watering chicken, Fuqi beef offal, and Sichuan boiled fish.

Absolutely top tier and authentic. The gong bao ji ding and ma Po tofu are the best I've had in China. The Michelin stars are well deserved.

Cool place with Sichuan food. Doesn’t get more authentic than this unless you are in Chengdu. Fried pork was tasty. A little dry for my liking. Double cook poor was great. Spicy cold noodle was delicious. How about those cucumbers!! Yummy.

Great Sichuan restaurant in Beijing. Portions were big and we ordered too much for two people. Everything was delicious and even though the servers only speak Chinese we did ok with them. Great value and spot on flavor.
