My stay at The Barcelona EDITION was one of the most meaningful hotel experiences I’ve ever had. I traveled to Barcelona alone, but from the moment I arrived, I never felt alone. This hotel truly felt like home because of the people who work there. Alba in the restaurant went above and beyond to make me feel welcome. She took genuine interest in my days, remembered our conversations, and always had thoughtful suggestions on what I should see and experience in the city. Jhoseph in the Punch Room delivered exceptional service and unforgettable drinks, but what stood out most was how warm and engaging he was. He made every visit special and even recommended other amazing cocktail bars to try. Carolina in the Punch Room was equally kind and helpful, offering great suggestions for bars and clubs around Barcelona. Andreas, the head bartender in the restaurant, made me feel like I was spending time with friends rather than staying at a hotel. Our conversations about Spanish life were a highlight of my trip. I also want to thank the front desk and concierge teams, who greeted me with genuine warmth every time I entered the hotel and made me feel truly cared for throughout my stay. This hotel didn’t just give me a place to sleep—it gave me comfort, connection, and memories I’ll always carry with me. I would recommend The Barcelona EDITION to anyone looking for more than just a hotel in Barcelona.
This is an upmarket but casual property in a great locations with super helpful / professional staff and extra touches that made us feel welcome and special. We booked a superior king room which was roomy and had a nice window seat. Plenty of space for cosmetics etc in bathroom. The front desk, concierge and bars staff we all so nice. Don’t miss the Punch Bowl on 1st floor or the Rooftop for cool bar experiences.
Perfect location for my partner and I. Loved the free breakfast daily and the prepared snack upon house keeping. Loved the rooftop bar and how cozy it felt. Room size is towards small, almost 0 space for 2 traveller both with big luggages. Bed is a squeaky but what hotel bed isn't lol. TV size was alright, it lets me sign into Netflix without any crazy steps. Service was great, the team at the Edition definitely made us felt very welcomed. Was able to use the free $100 usd credit from AMEX easily. You have the ability to choose from either dining at the restaurants, just buying a couple drinks from the bar, room service, and etc. Unfortunately no spa on site to use the credit towards. Concierge team at the Edition also helped me book a couple restaurants whenever I requested. Very helpful team and great personality. Foot traffic was great, located directly next to Mercat de Santa Caterina, definitely a must visit during your stay. Idk what the bad review about the metro distance was about, but it was not bad of a walk at all. The location is extremely walkable and honestly made my stay a lot easier. -1 star because my room reeked of this awful sewage smell daily. I didn't bother requesting anything because I've seen multiple reviews about this said issue upon digging through what other people have said from diff forum / websites. Despite having house keeper, the smell remained lol, how can this be "normal" for a 5 star hotel is a bit beyond me. -0.5 more star because for how much the hotel costed, I can't really justify the entire cost to enjoyment ratio due to the smell. Unsure if located directly next to a fresh produce market was the cause of the sewage system smell. But this is definitely an ongoing issue that the hotel probably just won't fix. -0.5 star due to how annoying the light system works. I swear to god those "smart" button or whatever the hotel is using is literally useless. Idk how many times i have to click "bathroom" and "mirror" to turn on and off the lights. I've stayed at so many 5 stars hotel in the past, Barcelona Edition definitely has the worst light switch system I've ever used in my life. Advice for hotel is to fix that sewage smell issue coming from the drain / toilet water. I have 0 idea what it is but not even restaurants bathroom smells like that lol. Change out the buttons for the light switch, the weird delay it does makes it feel like it's not working.
After a long drive from San Sebastián and challenges finding the narrow street in city traffic, we had an outstanding night in the hotel celebrating 15 yr anniversary. The city view from rooftop bar is excellent, and the central location and hotel staff provided an outstanding experience. They went above and beyond, especially Shaina at the front desk. She offered us a lovely special occasion anniversary dinner at the rooftop bar and even had a colleague send chocolates and a special set up with balloons in our room to celebrate us, which we were pleasantly surprised and enjoyed very much upon returning. We would like to recognize and suggest promoting Shaina to manage the hotel if she desires, her warm smile and outstanding customer service, and consideration alone made the trip worth it! And the Amex room upgrade was incredible. Massive marble bathtub and shower. Quite the experience!
We arrived very early in the morning on a flight from Atlanta and although we were earlier than check in, the staff at The Edition hotel went above and beyond. They held our luggage as we walked around El Born and the Gothic quarter and hit the Como museum and lunch. Our room was ready ahead of time and we had a great corner room facing the tiled market next door. We had an enormous bathtub that could hold a family of 4 in the equally enormous shower with automatic shades (that work much faster than our’ Hunter Douglas one's in the US). Shortly after we checked in we were sent a charcuterie board + wine which was a really nice surprise and dined upstairs for dinner (highly recommend the rooftop- insane views). The day before we checked out we received special sweet treats from the pastry chef. Even housekeeping gifted us with presents! They really went over the top for our stay. Special shout out to the entire front desk & concierge staff - especially Yannick - who were all top notch with recommending restaurants and making reservations at hard to get into restaurants. Since there was a convention in town the day of our flight to Madrid, they suggested a private transfer to the airport because of expected delays (which we didn’t have; it only took 20 minutes to get to the airport but was nice to be in a Mercedes vs the uber driver who dropped us off in the wrong location from the airport so US citizens, while uber is easy to use, I’d recommend to avoid based on our experience). Everyone from the bell boy to the staff restaurant (who makes exceptional cappuccinos and vegan-friendly meals) greeted us with a genuine smile everyday. Not only is the hotel in a perfect location with the gothic quarter just across the street, museums and restaurants close by, it’s the perfect hotel for your stay in Barcelona with staff who you’ll feel are like family. Can’t recommend enough. The only suggestion would be to provide better pillows and matresses but perhaps that was just our corner room on the 5th floor. Regardless, it checks so many boxes!
