Our stay at Hotel El Palace Barcelona was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we arrived, every member of staff made us feel genuinely welcome and looked after. The concierge team were incredibly helpful, recommending some fantastic local tapas restaurants that allowed us to experience the very best of Barcelona’s food scene. Breakfast each morning was a delight, with a wonderful selection of high-quality dishes served in beautiful surroundings. The highlight of our stay was undoubtedly the rooftop pool and terrace. We spent many relaxing afternoons there enjoying the sunshine, accompanied by first-class service from the attentive and professional staff. Nothing was ever too much trouble. The hotel combines timeless elegance with outstanding hospitality, making it one of the finest places we have ever stayed. We created some wonderful family memories during our visit and are already looking forward to returning as soon as possible. Thank you to everyone at Hotel El Palace Barcelona for making our stay so memorable.
My recent stay at El Palace was nothing short of exceptional, beginning with a pleasant surprise upgrade from a Junior Suite to a Deluxe Suite upon arrival. The room was everything one would expect from a hotel of this caliber: spacious, in pristine condition, and elegantly furnished. The housekeeping was truly flawless, and while the bathroom, featuring a beautiful Roman-style bathtub and large walk-in shower, was stocked with high-quality amenities, I did find myself missing a comb. On a minor note, the suite lacked a toilet brush, this is a small omission I’d love to see corrected out of respect for the staff. The staff are the true crown jewels of El Palace, addressing you by name from the very first interaction. They handled every detail of my logistics perfectly, including arranging a Maybach for my airport transfers and event transportation. There was one slight hiccup when a rooftop restaurant reservation made through the concierge didn't go through, which could have dampened the evening, but fortunately, the restaurant staff resolved it on the spot. Beyond that, everything was seamless and professional. While I didn't have the chance to try Amar this time, I sampled two of the other restaurants and both were OK. It is worth noting that the kitchens close relatively early at 22:30, though the hotel does offer an excellent 24/7 room service menu. During this time of year, the rooftop bar also closes early due to the cold, though I was told they stay open until 2:00 AM in the summer, leaving the basement "Speakeasy" as the primary late-night option. Unfortunately, the music there was far too loud for my taste. I ended up retreating to the Cigar Club instead; it is a wonderfully cozy spot, but the selection was limited to only one type, so I’d recommend bringing your own if you are particular. Overall, El Palace is a stunning, well-maintained property that breathes luxury, and despite these minor quirks I will definitely be returning.
Our stay at Hotel El Palace Barcelona was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we arrived, the staff provided warm, attentive, and truly five-star service that made us feel welcomed and cared for throughout our entire visit. The hotel itself is absolutely stunning—elegant, historic, and beautifully maintained, with luxurious touches at every turn. Our room was spacious, impeccably clean, and thoughtfully appointed with high-end linens and amenities that made it incredibly comfortable. The location is ideal, allowing easy access to many of Barcelona’s top attractions while still offering a peaceful retreat. I also want to give special recognition to Tatiana in reservations. After I made an error on our booking, she went above and beyond to work with American Express to have it resolved and refunded. I truly appreciate and am grateful for her willingness to help. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Barcelona.
I had the pleasure of staying at El Palace Hotel Barcelona last weekend, and what a delight it was. The hotel is beautiful and classically luxurious — as you would expect from a former authentic Ritz hotel. (By the way, I hope they one day recover their original Ritz name.) However, apart from all the glitz and glamour, what really makes this hotel stand out is the service provided by the staff. From the minute I arrived, I was received with a warmth and care that I very seldom experience in hotels. Gwen at the front desk made my stay perfect. The rest of the staff, no matter where I went, were top class and incredibly service-minded. I tried the Swiss Chalet on the roof terrace (very cool) and the upscale restaurant Amar, and they were both great. I have found my new home away from home in Barcelona.
A Perfect Stay at El Palace Hotel Barcelona We stayed at El Palace Hotel in Barcelona to celebrate a milestone birthday after an exhausting trip filled with long flight delays, and it was truly the best decision we could have made. We arrived much earlier than expected, tired and worn out, and the staff could not have been more gracious. They immediately arranged a room for us and surprised us with a beautiful upgrade to a lovely suite. After stepping out for lunch, we returned to find the sweetest surprise waiting in our room — a delicious birthday cake, champagne, candle and perfume from Barcelona, and a handwritten note. It was such a lovely surprise. Every single member of the staff was warm, friendly, and genuinely welcoming. You really do feel like you’re coming home when you walk through the doors. The breakfast was incredible, with so many delicious options and impeccable service. We absolutely loved our stay and highly recommend El Palace Hotel to anyone visiting Barcelona. We can’t wait to return on a future trip — it truly made our pre-cruise experience unforgettable.
