The Mandala Resort left a lasting imprint on my heart. From the moment we arrived, the beauty of the views took my breath away, but it was the warmth and intentionality of the service that truly made this stay unforgettable. Our butler, Medi, anticipated every need with such care — thoughtfully packing breakfast for our early excursions and even coordinating a stunning photoshoot around the property so we could capture the magic of the experience. These moments made us feel genuinely seen and cared for. The food was exceptional, especially breakfast, which felt endless in variety and indulgence. Our room was spacious, modern, and serene — a true sanctuary after long days of exploring. This wasn’t just a hotel stay; it was an experience filled with beauty, ease, and meaningful touches that will stay with me long after leaving. I would return without hesitation and recommend The Mandala to anyone seeking something truly special.

My stay at Mandapa, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve, was truly a rollercoaster of emotions. There were aspects of the experience that were exceptional and unforgettable, while others fell short of the standards I expected from a property of this caliber. The property itself is simply breathtaking. Surrounded by lush jungle, rice terraces, and the Ayung River flowing through the resort, Mandapa offers one of the most beautiful settings I have ever experienced. The sense of tranquility and connection to nature is extraordinary. My suite was excellent—beautifully designed, immaculately maintained, and thoughtfully appointed. Every detail reflected the elegance and craftsmanship that Mandapa is known for. Dining was a mixed experience. Dinner at Sawah was exceptional, with excellent flavors and presentation. Breakfast, however, felt limited and did not reach the same standard. Dinner at Kubu was enjoyable, but considering its reputation, I found it good rather than extraordinary. Ambar was unfortunately the weakest part of my stay. The venue itself is stunning, but the service, communication, and overall guest experience were disappointing. At times, it felt as though the focus was on outside visitors rather than resort guests. The main pool area is spectacular, and the service there was consistently warm, attentive, and professional. My spa experience, the “Gentleman’s Day” treatment, was excellent and one of the highlights of my stay. The curated experiences offered by the resort were outstanding. I participated in both the Exclusive Ayung River Journey and the Ring of Fire experience. While both were excellent, Ring of Fire was absolutely unforgettable and deserves special recognition. It is, without question, a must-do experience for anyone visiting Mandapa. Throughout my stay, there were several issues related to personalization, communication, and arrangements. However, after discussing my concerns with the hotel manager, Ms. Desy, the service recovery provided was exceptional. She demonstrated genuine care, professionalism, and a commitment to guest satisfaction that completely changed the trajectory of my stay. The effort invested in resolving the situation was impressive and deserves recognition. A special mention must also go to Thania, my butler, who was consistently attentive, professional, and a pleasure to interact with throughout my stay. Finally, I would like to recognize Mia from Sawah. She was, without question, the standout team member during my stay. I noticed other guests speaking highly of her as well, which came as no surprise. Her interactions felt genuine and heartfelt. She took the time to share insights into Balinese culture, provided excellent recommendations, and made every meal feel personal and welcoming. Mia embodies the warmth, kindness, and hospitality that Bali is famous for. She is a tremendous asset to Mandapa, and I sincerely hope the resort recognizes how valuable she is. Despite its imperfections, Mandapa remains one of the most beautiful resorts I have visited. What ultimately stood out was not only the stunning setting and memorable experiences, but also the dedication of the people who went above and beyond to make things right.

Probably one of the best views I’ve ever had from a hotel. Sitting in the Ambar after rain felt like up in the clouds. You will witness the formation of the clouds. Light water vapor forming from the rain forest under you, they then drift up to the sky. The room was spacious and comfortable the food was good from all the restaurants within the hotel. The personal butler adds another layer to the already wonderful service. Take advantage of their wellness classes and spa. We had an amazing time in Mandapa.

I cannot put into words how amazing this place is. Truly heaven on Earth. My wife and I came for our honeymoon and it was by far the best hotel we have ever stayed at. Everything was perfect from the villa, the food, the beautiful grounds, and the most top notch service. It was the perfect place to disconnect. Every restaurant onsite exceeded our expectations. The people who work here are some of the nicest we have ever met. We loved Mandapa so much that we are already planning on coming back. We miss it!

Where Stillness Meets True Luxury There are luxury resorts, and then there is Mandapa, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve, a place that feels thoughtful, grounded, and quietly extraordinary. Set high above the Ayung River in Sayan, Mandapa offers sweeping views from the lobby across rice fields, rainforest, and the river below. The scale is impressive, yet the atmosphere remains intimate and calm. As the only resort in Bali awarded Three MICHELIN Keys in 2025 and recognized among the World’s 50 Best Hotels, it represents the highest level of refined hospitality in Indonesia. My stay in the Ubud Pool Villa felt deeply personal. Complete privacy, generous space, and constant immersion in nature made it easy to disconnect and reset. Mandapa is also known for offering some of the largest entry level accommodations in Ubud, ensuring that space and comfort are part of the experience from the very beginning. The Patih service elevated everything, intuitive, warm, and genuinely attentive. Each venue added its own layer to the stay. Indonesian cuisine at Sawah, a restorative riverfront treatment at Mandapa Spa, sunset cocktails overlooking the valley at Ambar Ubud Bar, and a memorable nine course degustation at Kubu came together seamlessly. What defines Mandapa is not just beauty or luxury, but care. It is one of those rare places that leaves you feeling restored long after you leave.
