A beautiful modern hotel, rooms are on the smaller side unless you go for the special suite. Lots of good restaurants right next to the entrance and the included breakfast at the Kingi restaurant is really good. The only downside is that if you drive it takes a bit of finding to locate the hotel entrance, as it's in a section of shared road with pedestrians and cyclists (not a common thing in our city and was worried that we may enter a pedestrian only road!). Not an issue if you park yourself at the nearby mall but we opted for the valet parking so a bit more information beforehand would be nice. Overall a very nice hotel for those who prefer a nicer modern hotel during their stay in Auckland!

First time at this lovely hotel ! Love the location and the bar/restaurant on the ground floor os pretty good as well . Our room was a bit small but very comfortable and high tech : everything is controlled by a display on the wall , lights , blinds air con etcetc . We had a room only rate but there are really good breakfast places everywhere. We will definitely come back next time we are in Auckland!

I would have rated this a five star if it wasn’t for their customer service. I booked this stay through Expedia with “full breakfast” included. During my stay, I was charged for breakfast multiple times, which should not have occurred. To be clear, I was understanding and cooperative when the hotel explained that one additional charge related to a side item, and also one breakfast will be charged (since I checked in earlier) but to be charged again and again for breakfast and sides takes me aback especially since the Expedia booking details and the booking explicitly stated full breakfast. I accepted that single charge in good faith. However, despite breakfast already being prepaid, I was charged additional breakfast fees beyond that, including being told to pay again at checkout. One duplicate breakfast charge has since been refunded, which confirms that the billing was incorrect, but another $12 in breakfast charges remains, meaning I was still charged twice for breakfast overall. The manager responded as if they were doing me a favour and not apologizing for charging me incorrectly which I find absurd. My concern is not about differing hotel policies, but about duplicate billing and lack of clear disclosure. If there are limitations or extra charges associated with a full breakfast, those should be clearly stated at the time of booking so guests can make informed decisions. That was not the case here. The hotel itself is well located and the stay was otherwise pleasant, but the repeated breakfast charges and need to closely monitor billing took away from the experience and felt unnecessary. And some of the staffs behaviour. I also stayed at Sofitel Hotel and the customer service was beyond incredible.

We had our wedding in The Libraries in November and it was stunning. The staff were amazing (huge shout out to Mia in particular who was with us every step of the way), and the menu had great selections. We couldn’t recommend them highly enough for an event or a stay. The best part of this hotel is the location and the reception staff who were very pleasant. However, this is the first hotel I’ve been at in years that doesn’t offer courtesy water in the guest rooms. Rooms were TINY! Not enough space for 2 people with luggage. The dining service at breakfast is extremely slow…not sure if it’s a staff problem or kitchen problem, but it took almost 40 min to get two eggs and a coffee.
