We loved our stay here! The hostel is super clean, the common areas are well maintained, and you really feel comfortable here. The people are awesome, the atmosphere is incredibly friendly, and the staff is simply wonderful-always smiling, helpful, and kind. You feel at home from the very first days. We 100% recommend it, and we hope to come back one day! * We put your address down for the van purchase. Estelle, if you receive any fines, could you let us know please (e thank you so much. I had a really good stay at Attic Backpackers. The kitchen is big, clean, and well organised, which makes cooking easy even when there are several people around. The rooms are spacious, with comfortable beds and pillows, something you do not always find in hostels and definitely appreciated after a long day out. The common areas are great. There are large indoor lounges and an outdoor space as well, with plenty of comfy sofas and lots of board games. It is easy to relax, hang out, or meet people without feeling crowded. Bathrooms were always clean and spacious during my stay. Towels are not included and have an extra cost, but you can just bring your own if you prefer. They also provide good information about tours and local activities, which is helpful if you are still planning what to do around Queenstown. I arrived after hours and the check in was very straightforward. They send you a clear email with all the instructions, so there is no stress at all if you get in late. Overall, it is a solid, comfortable hostel with good vibes, clean spaces, and everything you actually need for a good stay.

I chose this place because I like a social hostel that doesn’t party!! I’m a 28 year old female so a bit of social time and a reasonable sleep is the best I can ask from a hostel. I came for 5 nights, a one bad sleep and the rest were good to great sleeps. Reviews are true that it’s a bit hot on some nights (not really a problem for me but can be for others!). I went to bed at 9Pm on some nights and I often wasn’t the only one already in bed!! People generally respect quiet times and there are enough social spots in the hostel that people will go there to get their social time out, not party in the hall or the room next to you. So the rooms are fairly quiet. I made a few friends here and dinner time can be pretty social if you put a little effort in. I slept in a 14 bedroom mixed dorm and I chose the bed right next to the door. I did get woken up by the door opening and closing often, which to be honest I just tired myself out as much as possible during the day to make sure I’d sleep through it 🤣. They have a built in stopper which ensures the door doesn’t slam, which is good. But hey if you have 14 to a room that’s what u expect. I didn’t mind the fan sounds and sometimes the streets would be periodically noisy but nothing the earplugs and headphones didn’t fix. On my second stay here I went to the corner away from the door and wasn’t woken up by it at all. Also, I was grateful they upgraded me to the 12 bedroom on my second stay! I was a little freaked out by the small lockers as I came with a lot of gear and didn’t feel comfortable leaving things out. But I soon found people are all in the same boat and there isn’t a stealing culture here. Just a warning if u have a big bag and trust issues, u will be challenged. This hostel is well cleaned. Minus the kitchen I didn’t feel gross if I was barefoot. Some hostel bathrooms can get really gross but they clean them daily and I could tell. There’s ample space and I never felt clusterfucky using the public spaces. I liked the kitchen too. I was never disappointed by the state of the kitchen, and there is a generous amount of free stuff backpackers leave behind! They have a cool balcony area to sit outside and get some social time. There’s a lounge room but tbh I never used it. The check in area has some tables which I used often to work on my computer or charge my phone. Overall I really enjoyed my stay and I’d book here again. The location was extremely convenient too, a massive bonus.

The hostel is really central so you can easily walk every where. The staff members were so kind and open. It has a big kitchen which is also very well equipped (with great pans) with spices and leftovers from other guests. It has a lot chill areas and the bathroom was also always very clean. The room was a bit stuffy because it only has a small window with not a lot fresh air coming in. Would definitly come again!

My time at the attic was absolutely amazing. I stayed for far too long (I will not say but just know it was a loooong time) but had the best time ever. Immediately I felt welcomed by the staff (Estelle, the myth and the legend checked me in) and loved how clean and chill the hostel was. Everyone was really friendly and I have made friends for life here. I love you my attic family, I shall be coming back to visit. If you’re on the fence about booking this hostel DO IT! You’ll love it. Attic, you will always have a special place in my heart
