Linou is one of our favorite spots in the center of Athens, and somewhere we almost always book whenever we have friends visiting who appreciate good food. From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere feels different, homey yet sophisticated in a very effortless way. The menu is simple and easy to navigate, and we usually end up ordering a lot of dishes to share. Honestly, everything has been consistently excellent, and nothing has really disappointed us so far. One thing we always make sure to order is the sourdough bread with tarama, such a perfect way to start the meal. On our last visit, they had a steak off the menu that was absolutely epic. And if you’re a dessert person, don’t skip the tiramisu.

A laid-back, unpretentious venue with a genuine appreciation for warm service and well-balanced, flavorful dishes, all enjoyed under the glow of candlelit beeswax. The charred broccoli with cheese was beautifully lifted by a bright lemon dressing; the stuffed cabbage offered a playful reinterpretation of a traditional classic, as did the cod with fricassee, both thoughtful reinventions of Greek staples. A perfectly chosen Greek white wine, mineral-driven and dry, tied everything together and played elegantly off the flavors.

An outstanding example of modern Greek fine dining, where creativity meets authenticity. Every dish was beautifully executed, and the overall concept is thoughtful, refined, and truly memorable. A must-visit for a remarkable culinary experience.

This self-professed "simple restaurant" adopts a post-industrial aesthetic that feels stark and uninviting. The unbreakable aluminum tables and chairs would not look out of place in a correctional facility. To make matters worse, despite the venue being less than 50% full at 14:00, we were seated at a narrow counter, facing a blank shiny white wall, perched on low, backless aluminum stools. The prison-industrial theme unfortunately expands to the toilets, too, which are about as refined as the ones in your local bus terminal. Furthermore, reaching the facilities requires ascending a steep staircase, making the place completely inaccessible to anyone with even slight mobility issues. We are baffled as to how such an arrangement, which is discriminatory against those with compromised mobility, is compliant with regulations in the Athens of 2026. The service matched the environment in its amateurism. Though the menu is time-stamped, supposedly to communicate freshness and dynamism, the staff seemed completely disconnected from it. Our waiter was unaware of which dishes were actually available, frequently retreating to the kitchen to check, only to return with the news that items "were not ready yet." Compounding the frustration, we were served by two completely uncoordinated waiters. Every question and every order had to be repeated, which inevitably caused confusion, errors, and constant interruptions to our meal. Most notably, our wine order never arrived. When we pointed this out to the server at dessert time, she simply shrugged. When we mentioned it to the manager, we were met with the exact same indifferent response. Given the discomfort, the accessibility issues, and the apathy displayed by the staff, we will not be returning anytime soon. As ordinary consumers, we are not paid or compensated in any way for this review. We value service that cares, and unfortunately, we didn't find it here.

We had a wonderful lunch! The taramosalata was incredibly smooth and delicate, especially with thw warm and lightly charred pita bread that came alongside. The coal‑roasted corn with aioli was a sweet and fun bite, and the kakavia was rich and deeply comforting. The weever ceviche was bright and fresh, and the bucatini with lemon and wild garlic were beautifully balanced and full of depth. For dessert, the strawberry yogurt with basil gel was a refreshing suprise and the chocolate truffles were a standout — a full, satisfying bite lifted by salt flakes. We started with rose and orange wine and moved to white, all pairing effortlessly with the meal. What I love the most at this place, is the contrast: the cool steel tables and chairs against the warmth of candlelight, the kindness of the staff, and dishes that feel like nonna food taken to an elegant, elevated place. Thank you for a memorable lunch!
