The food was great!! All the food was delicious! I ate here 3 times, lunch twice w/ a group & dinner once w/ a friend, tried many dishes & they were all good. I esp. liked the pistachio pesto pasta. However, our waitress at dinner ghosted us. We tried to get other waitstaff to bring our check, finally we had to go to the bus station to find someone to let us pay for our dinner.
Ergon is easily one of the best places to eat in Athens, and somewhere we keep going back to for both lunch and dinner. What makes it special is that it’s more than just a restaurant. They also have a deli, a meat section, and a beautifully curated selection of local products, from wine and olive oil to olives and other Greek specialties, which makes the whole experience feel very complete. The restaurant itself is almost always packed, so booking ahead is definitely recommended. The food is consistently very well done, with great quality ingredients throughout the menu. And dare I say it has the best Greek salad in Athens. It’s not cheap, but for the quality and overall concept, the pricing feels justified. The staff are also extremely friendly, which adds to the experience. Honestly, this is one of those places that should be on every traveler’s list when visiting Athens.
I passed by this restaurant and immediately decided to have lunch here. I learned that it is a very interesting business compound that joins restaurant, market and hotel. It is very huge and very popular. I didn't have reservation so I got the sitting seats near the window. I ordered smoked cod fish and cod roe, both are very delicious, especially the cod roe. It is very soft and foamy, with well balanced taste of Salt and smoking. The quantity is generous and with the very special bread I even couldn't eat all of them. And for main dish I ordered Caesar salad and fried squid, both are delicious. Then I did some shopping at the market, where I bought nice olive oils and pistachio nuts. I do like this idea and I would like to visit it again!
We loved the set up with the farmers market style food court. The food was delicious and the rooms very comfortable. Staff friendly and willing to help. Perfect location, minutes away from the Acropolis. We loved the energy in the morning with everyone coming for brunch on weekends.
The place is fantastic , the attentive staff is lacking. The staff need training to really make this place shine. Although I was in no rush. My third dish hasn’t arrived and I did ask for it, still waiting. I asked again and they happily refunded.
