This was a fabulous night out. We were recommended to try this restaurant and it lived up to the hype. The staff was incredible and the food was very enjoyable. Despite it being only a few bites per course, we were absolutely stuffed at the end. We did the wine pairing and enjoyed tasting the local wine selections with each course. Our favorites were the calamari "pasta" and the ceviche with kiwi.
I had high expectations for CTC Urban Gastronomy, but unfortunately the service experience significantly detracted from the evening. We arrived at approximately 7:55pm and were seated in the room with the windows and moon-like ceiling lights. At that point, we were only the third table in the room. Despite this, the pacing of the meal was extremely slow. The wait between courses was consistently long, and what made it more frustrating was seeing multiple tables that arrived after us being served ahead of us throughout the evening. Several of those tables even completed their meals and left before we had finished ours. Our bill was eventually processed at 11:40pm, meaning the experience lasted close to four hours. Fine dining should be leisurely, but there is a difference between a thoughtfully paced meal and a service flow that feels disorganised. What disappointed me most was the response when we raised the issue. The server's reaction was simply, "Really?" Given that she had been serving the guests in the room the entire evening, it was surprising that such a significant delay appeared to come as a surprise. A more appropriate response would have been acknowledgment of the issue and an apology. The food was enjoyable, but the excessively long waits and the lack of awareness when feedback was provided left a lasting negative impression. For a restaurant operating at this level, I would expect much better service coordination and attentiveness.
Just perfect. We have had the opportunity to dine in many nice restaurants over the years. CTC dinner was among the best in its class. Delicious dishes with varied flavors, structures and presentations. Greek wine pairing was an interesting and tasty journey into the Greek wine making and wine culture. Service staff was professional and attentive, and created relaxed atmosphere.
We had the meal with the wine pairing and it truly blew our minds. Such a fun experience for date night. Do keep in mind that the entire service took about 4.5-5 hours. Also, if you have any dietary restrictions, make sure to note it in the reservation as they prepare the plates for the exact number of people joining that night. Changing the plates at the table can cause a big issue!
Had the 12 course surprise menu (including the added signature dish) and the Greek wine pairing, and had a blast from start to finish. The dishes were diverse in taste and texture - from light and crisp to heavy, umami rich - all were impressively built with layer upon layer of different tastes merging together. At least my Top 4 restaurant experience.
