if you want the absolute best pork chops in Athens, you sit down at O Telis Mprizoladiko. Located on the corner of Evripidou and Epikourou in the gritty, authentic Psirri district, this place isn't just a restaurant—it's a Greek institution. The menu is famously simple because they’ve perfected exactly what they do. You come here for the "Mprizolakia" (thinly sliced, charcoal-grilled pork chops) served on a mountain of hand-cut fries. The meat is consistently tender, smoky from the grill, and seasoned to perfection. Must-Order Highlights: The Pork Chops (Mprizolakia): The undisputed star of the show. They are thin, juicy, and arrive fast—often within minutes of ordering. Bougiourdi (Spicy Tomato & Feta): You haven't lived until you've tried their spicy baked feta with tomatoes and peppers. It’s the perfect, zesty companion to the grilled meat. Classic Greek Sides: Their Tzatziki is thick and garlicky, and the Horiatiki (Greek Salad) features high-quality feta and fresh vegetables. House Wine: Pair your meal with their crisp house rosé or a cold beer for the full local experience. The vibe is no-frills and fast-paced. You’ll see everyone from local workers to "brave" tourists and affluent Athenians who know where the real food is. The staff is incredibly efficient—sometimes the food arrives so fast it’ll make your head spin—and the "grandpa" owner is known for his welcoming smile. For a truly authentic Athenian meal that won't break the bank, O Telis is mandatory.

Simple restaurant with good food at very reasonable prices. Traditional menu with easy selection. The pork chops were very tender and the service was polite and on time.

We really enjoyed it here. Nothing fancy just some really nice fresh pork cooked to perfection over the charcoal. Service was quick and friendly and the prices were fair too. I’d definitely recommend to give them a try if you’re near by and feeling hungry.

This restaurant is not in a tourist area, kinda hard to find. Atmosphere is very basic, which is a good sign for great food. Pork chops were so good, well seasoned, and very juicy. Love it. The spiced tomatoes were so flavourful, little bit spicy, so watch out for the green peppers on the plate.
