Strong for travellers who want style, a central canal setting, and a hotel that feels social without being loud.

I loved the Hoxton. It's a funky (in a great way!) hotel right on one of the canals in downtown Amsterdam. Our room was more like a bedroom in someone's apartment than a hotel room. Decent restaurant, lively nighttime scene at the bar, where lots of locals where hanging out, and walking distance to many good restaurants and sights. Super friendly and helpful staff. Would definitely stay here again. Two words of warning: This is not a good place for people who can't deal with stairs, and most importantly, if you're looking to book this hotel make sure you book the Hoxton, NOT the Hoxton Lloyd, which is nowhere near downtown or anything interesting in walking distance. But this is a great place to stay.
We arrived early, having easily found this wonderfully located Hotel on the banks of a canal. It warm and welcoming as were the staff, our room was a "Cosy" room overlooking rooftops, but we only slept in it so it was ideal. The bed was large and comfortable and the room spacious with a large bathroom. We had a wonderful three night stay and would return.
Love this Hotel!!! Such a great vibe! Clearly popular with the locals as well. Outstanding service at every level and in every function. Really enjoyed the food at the restaurant – very accommodating to diet, etc. Rooms very clean. Really everything was top-notch. Additionally, you can’t beat the location. Will put this brand high on our list for future travel. Special shout out to Leslie, Matild, Ana, Alix, and Taisiia!!!
i like to think of myself as pretty easygoing, but i’ll admit i’m a bit of a hotel snob. while i’m laid back about most things, hotels is not one of them. so when i say i loved the hoxton amsterdam, i mean it. i rolled in looking like the crypt keeper after ~24 hours of traveling from california and the woman at the front desk could not have been kinder. it was early morning so my room wasn’t ready yet (totally fair), but instead of the robotic “check-in isn’t until x time” speech you sometimes get, she was genuinely warm and helpful and told me she’d call me as soon as something was available. i went to wander around the adorable neighborhood for a bit and sure enough — not long after — she called me to say my room was ready, well ahead of the normal check-in time. it honestly felt like she was rooting for me to have a great stay vs just going through the motions. the room itself? gorgeous. cozy but sleek, insanely comfortable, and with a beautiful view of the canals. i’ve stayed in a lot of hotels over the years and this might have been one of the sexiest hotel rooms i’ve ever had. the lobby/bar area has exactly the right kind of buzz — it feels like the cool place to hang out without being overwhelming — and the cocktails at the bar were excellent. service there was just as friendly as the front desk, which says a lot. the neighborhood and location are also perfect. you’re right in the middle of a great area with tons of shops and restaurants nearby, and the metro is an easy walk away. my only regret is that i could only stay one night because i’d already booked another hotel near my company’s office for the rest of the trip — a mistake i won’t make again. the metro made getting around incredibly easy, and next time i’m in amsterdam for work, the hoxton will absolutely be my home base. already looking forward to my next stay.
my to go place to get some work done and a nice drink. i love the atmosphere, the people, and the overall vibe. Cristine is always such a big part of that experience. super friendly, welcoming, and somehow already knows what I’m going to order before I say anything. those details always makes me feel so welcome and somehow brightens my day
