The location is solid, the rooms, common areas and toilets are clean and well-maintained. There is nice quiet area to chill if you arrive before the check-in time. However, the staff is neither very kind nor helpful. 1. After checking out of the hostel, I had rented a paid luggage storage there. When I was picking up my luggage at night, I was going to the washroom for just changing my tshirt, and the staff had the audacity to tell me "You have to leave after collecting the luggage. You can't be around." 2. They literally have no idea about common questions like the nearest supermarket, food or anything relevant for travellers. I am sure people can Google anything and find stuff out. But still, its good to have someone who actually knows stuff.

Location and staff are great. All room lockers were smooshed behind a small table in the room. Made it difficult for more than one person to access at a time. Room was hot, especially the top bunk. Nice big hang out area downstairs, lovely decor, easy check-in/out >> NO FRIDGE OR KITCHEN

My stay at Stayokay Amsterdam Stadsdoelen was absolutely wonderful—especially as it was my first time traveling alone and my first time in the country. The location is fantastic, as it’s very close to the city center and also conveniently near the railway station, making it easy to get around and explore Amsterdam. I was honestly surprised by how safe and comfortable I felt. I could leave my luggage in the room without locking it, and even though my locker didn’t have a lock, nothing happened to any of my belongings. That level of trust and security really stood out to me. The staff were incredibly kind, helpful, and always smiling. They treated everyone with warmth, and you could tell that all the guests felt welcomed—there was such a positive atmosphere throughout the hostel. The rooms were clean and well-organized, with multiple toilets and showers, which made everything very convenient. The other people staying in the room were also respectful and friendly, and it was always quiet—no loud noises at all. I also appreciated the little extras, like being able to buy a towel or shampoo/body wash at the front desk—it made things much easier as a traveler. Overall, everything was perfect, and I’m so glad I chose to stay here. A big thank you to the amazing staff for making my first solo hostel experience so memorable!

I had a wonderful stay at this hostel for two days. The staff were extremely cooperative, friendly, and always greeted us with a smiling face, which made the stay even more pleasant. The rooms were very clean, neat, and well-maintained. Hygiene standards were excellent, which truly impressed me. Overall, I had a great experience and felt very comfortable throughout my stay. I highly recommend this hostel to anyone looking for a clean, welcoming, and well-managed place to stay.

Really good choice in Amsterdam, and probably one of the best hostels I've stayed. Location is great, you can do most things walking and have easy access to public transportation. Staff is super kind and helpful as well. Rooms and bathroom areas are very confortable and very clean, and the common areas are nicely decorated!
