Hotel JLNo76 is a fantastic little hotel in the heart of Amsterdam’s Museumkwartier. We stayed 3 nights with bed and breakfast in an Executive double room overlooking the (very quiet, mostly residential) street. Location: this couldn’t have been better for us, as we spent much of our visit in the galleries and museums of Amsterdam. The hotel is a 5 minute walk from the Rijksmuseum but also very close to numerous shops, bars and restaurants. It is also just next to De Pijp, a great neighbourhood with lots to see and do. It’s a really quiet area but close to lots of great attractions and amenities, and for us much nicer than being in the busier, noisier parts of town. Conveniently, there’s also a supermarket very close by: an Albert Heijn store just beside the Van Gogh museum. Transport: very well connected. Tram number 2 is a short walk from the hotel on Museumplein and this gets you to into the city centre and Amsterdam Centraal station. The airport bus (397/N97) also leaves from just around the corner on Museumplein. Trams and buses are very easy to use, just tap a debit card both when you enter and leave the bus or tram to pay for your journey. Facilities: the room was very comfortable and had everything we needed, including hairdryer, tea and coffee making facilities and a spotlessly clean and well functioning bathroom. The breakfast was lovely, with a full continental offering plus cooked items, and was great for us as we had early plans most days so could have breakfast at 7am and then get on our way seeing the sights. Staff: we were very grateful for the welcome from the hotel staff. They were super knowledgeable, friendly and kind and we felt well looked after there. We thoroughly enjoyed our trip to the Netherlands and this was due in no small part to the warm welcome we received here at HotelJLNo76. Thanks so much!
I had to make a reservation for my husband during a very difficult time on his business trip. The hotel staff did everything they could to make him feel comfortable and supported. I will never forget this experience. The kind of kindness that often seems to be missing today truly still exists. We’ve stayed in many different hotels in Amsterdam, and this one stands out. The location is perfect.
This really is a first class hotel in our opinion. The room was beautiful with french doors and a quiet sunny balcony which we enjoyed every morning before we sampled as much as we could of Amsterdam in a week. *Hint* One week is not enough! Located in the Museumkwartier, surrounded by luxury shops such as Cartier, Louis Vuitton and Hermès, and perfect for the Rijksmuseum, Van Gogh museum and countless more, you would think that this boutique style hotel (made from two 19th Century mansions) would be very expensive, especially as it is so well appointed, but in fact it's very affordable at around £/€/$120 per night. The street is quiet, despite a nearby school. Public transport (Trams/Busses) just a street away with easy access to Schipol and Amsterdam Centraal (railway) Station. The staff were fantastic: spoke perfect English; Very knowledgeable; Always happy to help, and when we had to go home, they looked after our luggage (for free) so we could enjoy our last free morning in Amsterdam unencumbered. We did not eat at the hotel, so cannot report on the food, but our room had a good size refrigerator (useful if you need to refrigerate med_ication) or drinks as you can purchase snacks and drinks near reception. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend Hotel JL No76, and will probably want to stay again, if we stay near the museums again. (We WILL!) Trip Advisor gives it 4.5/5
What a totally perfect spot! My friend and I were on a work trip and stayed here for 2 nights. The location is fantastic -- very walkable, safe, and on a gorgeous tree lined street. It was away from the chaos of the city itself, and was near so many great cafes, restaurants, and sites. The grocery store (Albert Heijn) is a 10 min walk and there is a very clean self service laundromat 15 min away (Wash Queen) if you need to do laundry like we did. I didn't have the breakfast but our peers did and said it was excellent and well worth it. They were accommodating to our arrival time and were very helpful the whole time. The rooms are VERY QUIET (great sound proofing!) and I'm a super light sleeper so it was well appreciated. Thank you!
Very comfortable room walking distance to Van Gogh and Rjiksmuseum, as well as bakery, supermarket and restaurants. Easy to get to from Schiphol via bus 397. Very kind and friendly front desk. Loved that the window could open. Only slight negative: bathroom plumbing smells and toilet floor gets very wet when you shower cos there’s no shower door. And you can hear other guests talking in the hallway. Still great option for the area though and I’d stay here again.
