Our family has had the privilege of dining at Michelin starred restaurants all over the world including France, Italy, Greece, and Mexico, but De Kas was by far our most favorite experience of them all. The restaurant is so comfortable, attractive and inviting. The staff are so incredibly kind and generous. They made our anniversary celebration extremely special. And of course the food was exceptional. Every detail from the presentation to the flavor profile was executed perfectly. The restaurant was also extremely accommodating of our children which we appreciated. Probably most notably, the restaurant delivered a Michelin quality experience without the unnecessary Michelin level pretentiousness. I highly recommend De Kas as a truly unforgettable and unique experience.
Went there for dinner and opted for the 5 course veg option. Really nice ambiance. The food was delicately crafted and its really is like art. The service was great. The grapefruit cocktail was amazing. Definitely recommend for a taste of the michelin star restaurant in Amsterdam. It gets booked out way in advance so just a word of caution. And I think they change their menu often as well but I am sure there is a lot of thought that goes into it. And the venue is huge so lots of space.
Top. Considering the quality and where it’s located, I would say it’s almost cheap. Full menu for 53€? Crazy. Of course you can scale up with the wine, the cheese (the cheese!!!!! What a selection!), the additional desserts, etc... But you don’t really need to. We were already very satisfied (not full) after the menu itself. We went ahead because it was amazing: the ingredients so intense in flavour, yet so delicate and well balanced. Wonderful aesthetic of the dishes. The place itself helps; it doesn’t lose itself in the details, but it has a fascinating aesthetic, and I loved the daylight. I am curious about how it is during the evening, but I think I will find out soon!! Also, the people were very sociable yet professional, special mention for the lovely Dutch pronunciation of “cime di rapa” by our waitress. Very recommended for every occasion!
Lunch at De Kas was the absolute highlight of our time in Amsterdam. From the moment we arrived, everything felt special. The setting is stunning, and taking time to walk through the greenhouse and gardens before your meal is a must. Seeing where many of the ingredients are grown makes you appreciate just how authentic the farm-to-table experience truly is. The food was nothing short of perfection. Every course was beautifully presented, incredibly fresh, and packed with flavor. There were simply too many highlights to name—each dish seemed to outdo the last. What elevated the experience even further was the service. Our server was exceptional: knowledgeable, warm, attentive, and engaging without ever feeling stuffy or overly formal. The hospitality struck the perfect balance and made us feel completely at ease. De Kas isn't just a restaurant; it's an experience. If you're visiting Amsterdam, put this at the very top of your list. We would return in a heartbeat.
I would like to compliment Restaurant De Kas for the wonderful experience. Everything was impeccable, but I would especially like to highlight Lisa H, who took care of us with great kindness, attentiveness, and elegance from start to finish. She explained each dish with such care and warmth, which made the experience even more special. All the dishes were excellent, and the grand finale was the tangerine ice cream, with an incredible flavor and a beautifully smooth, creamy texture. The environment also deserves praise very clean and pleasant. The only small note is that the restroom was a bit untidy, but since I used it at the very end of the evening, when the restaurant was almost closing, this minor detail did not take away from the overall experience at all. It was truly a special evening! ✨
