Stylish, modern restaurant in glass & wood for artfully-plated contemporary dishes, plus a terrace.via Google

Worth the trip for its Dutch ingredient focus and its more modern, restrained approach to luxury dining.

Exceptionally great Michelin rated restaurant. Excellent vegetarian options and the vegetables are from their own organic and sustainable garden. The chef and owner is very talented and prepares innovative fresh dishes . The flavors and taste are excellent with outstanding service and wine paring. It is inexpensive side .

The service was fantastic. My team and I went for the executive lunch and they did their best to stay in our budget, and we really appreciated this. The food was spectacular. I will return for dinner. Also I learned they have a green Michelin star, in addition to the red one. They deserve this.

Great restaurant, good food but not extraordinarily so. Overall a good experience but it was a bit of a slow evening, probably due to Sinterklaas celebrations. Will try again in summer to see how the outside atmosphere is.

I’ll start with the interior of this restaurant. I mean it’s the first thing you see so why not start a review with it, right? The Scandinavian interior looks amazing, lots of oak and you feel at home immediately. The welcoming staff adds to the homey feeling. I opted for the vegetarian option and was not disappointed by my choice. I would like to highlight the (savory) dessert, crispy cabbage leaks, herbs and I believe ice cream made of Jerusalem artichoke: it was the perfect ending of the culinary tour at Bolenius. Can’t wait for our next visit!

The place is nicely decorated with minimalistic style. However, the overall experience leaves one ‘confused’, for a lack of a better word. The ingredients are certainly very fresh and you can tell lots of thought went into dishes but the taste is mediocre. I can’t say that I’d like to have any of the dishes again. Scallops, for example, were tasty, but the sauce that was paired with them didn’t go well - making the whole dish unable to live to its potential. The ice cream with liquorish was an interesting presentation but it just wasn’t tasty. The selection of wines and service was good. Overall, interesting experience but for this level of restaurant the dishes should be much more sharp.
