A lovely homestay located 10 minutes walked distance from the Taj Mahal. We had a pleasant stay here. The room was spacious and comfortable - but it was particularly noisy at night which made it hard to sleep. It wasn’t a huge issue as we were up early anyway for the Taj Mahal. Location is excellent as we could simply walk there! The breakfast (and dinner) was good. I recommend to stay if you are visiting the Taj.
One of my favorite movies is The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel, and I have always dreamed of staying in a place like that. This hotel truly lived up to that dream! The atmosphere is incredibly colorful, full of identity, and truly representative of the real India. Our room was very clean and comfortable; the only minor detail was that the shower could have used a glass partition, but it didn't take away from the experience. When we felt a bit cold in the morning, the owner was incredibly kind and immediately provided us with a heater. The breakfast was prepared fresh on the spot and was absolutely delicious. One of the highlights was the communal dining table, which allowed us to have very interesting conversations with other guests. Both the owner and the staff were extremely helpful and charming. My only regret is that we stayed for only one night. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for an authentic and warm stay. We will definitely come back.
Incredibly pretty hotel, with a beautiful garden, it's like a peaceful oasis in the middle of a busy and loud city. It was worth staying just for the beautiful garden to come back to. The room was fine, and in this price range is very reasonable quality. The owners were polite and attentive without being overly chatty. We had dinner there one night and it was a great selection of different vegetable dishes and roti, I recommend eating there at least one night. You eat with the other guests at a big table in the garden, which feels really special. We made the silly mistake of not realizing there was dessert, so we went back up to our room too early, but they brought it up to our room so we didn't miss it, some lovely homemade sweets. Breakfast was decent, with toast, cereal, juices, and some Indian options. The only downside was the heating and hot water. We visited in winter (Jan/Feb) and it was cold - small heater fans were provided but they only warmed a very small area, it would be great if they could get better space heaters that heat the whole room. The hot water comes from an individual tank in the room which needs to be turned on before you shower, and off afterwards to save costs. It does not last long - we turned it on 30 minutes or more before we needed it, and still had to shower very quickly before it ran out. I understand why it needs to be set up this way, but the tank is SO small it just didn't last as long as I expected, and it's not fun to be cold in the shower when you already struggling to warm up in the room. Because of this I would certainly come back to stay in the summer, but maybe not in the winter (although I'm not sure there is anywhere better in this price range!). We felt very safe walking from the hotel to the main road, and from there to the Taj Mahal, although we didn't walk after dark so can't comment on that. There was a nice tuktuk driver who is usually outside the entrance, called Sam, and he was helpful in taking us to places further away. Be aware Google maps doesn't show the correct location of the hotel entrance (on Taj Link Road), google takes you to the back of the property instead, so we had trouble being dropped off sometimes - it's easier to use the Coral *House* Homestay for maps, which is next door.
Just stayed here for a 3 nights in Agra with the family so needed 2 rooms. Was our first stop in India from uk and we really liked the place. Staff were super friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean and well maintained. The garden helped give the place a nice and relaxed feel as did the painted rooms. Breakfast was good also. Walking distance to the Taj - would recommend 👍
Simple but very charming house with large bedrooms and bathrooms, very well maintained. The lady owner welcomes you warmly. Nice little garden where you are taking meals, specially a delicious vegetarian dinner. Excellent location 10-15 min walking from Taj East Gate. Colorful decoration.
